  7. Seen a litter of Weimanarer x salukix. Most went as pets but 2 went to working homes. A large male that looked impressive but too heavy/ungainly for allround work but okay on Sika. A bitch from the litter was a better dog and racey for a first x.
  8. Not sure about adding doberman to lurchers, but I'm sure a good dash of greyhound in a line of dobermans would do the breed a lot of good.
  9. I love Nomad stuff. you wont sweat like Ridgeline, never leak either but takes some drying off at the end of a long wet day. Needs zipped handwarmer pockets
  10. another when he was 3 year old, He's a grand looking dog, I cannot believe you have never studded him! any particular reason Ray? yeh most people would ask , I say yeh then never hear from them again so I think people in general are just talk as a rabbit dog and what he was bred for he was good , up to 6 years he was very good the last couple years he started to think to much like a lot of collies can do. never stalked a rabbit in 8 years but if he was tired from say 30 runs he would only run what he wanted if that makes sense .lol Thats first crosses for yo

  12. smart animals. Ive been looking into getting a 3/8 5/8- the pup in mind isnt ready till the end of Jan, trying to make my mind up still . Any saluki in her or straight collie grey cheers the 3/8 is only 16month old, but a far smarter critter. If I only needed a dog to just run stuff, then the 1/4 is probably a better bet, but as far as a dog to find, catch and run hard, the younger dog is showing the signs of being amongst the best I have owned. She has a good splash of saluki on the dams side which has given a slightly feral attitude compared to some of the more responsive collie x's I
  13. 3/8ths collie 1/4 collie 1/2 collie feck knows!
  14. i would imagine his point his what most are thinking,, I imagine he was looking for a rise. And some have risen. It's just a book. Not a bible
  15. I've got to agree with Tomo. Find two collie based lurchers doing well at your type of work, on the land you will be working and take a litter from them. It's as simple as that
  16. Spent boxing day mostly filling sandbags and digging out ditches and drains. Cellars flooded when pump packed in, but fortunately we survived relatively unscathed.
  17. Should not be accepted by whom ? The guy runs a Business if he did not CHURN out pups he would be out of business . Those who choose to buy them. By my ethics anyway.
  18. And what drew you Leah Hanna's FB page in the first place Jig
  19. Hancock does not declare his dogs are any good. He will guarentee that they are collie greyhounds, and the percentages there of. He can charge what he likes, £30, £300 or £3000, they are his to sell. But churning out litter after litter in the manner of a factory farm is the one fact that should not be accepted.
  20. His dogs, he can charge what he likes. £150 price difference spread over the life of a working dog is rock all. Its little more than a cheep vet repair.
  21. "but not one of you can say honestly they were NOT worrying sheep, cos you were not there" I was & they weren't, they were just running through the land on scent, we went over on the quads to "get them back" to the huntsman has he was on foot. Having said that your 1st point is taken as valid hence why it is now in solicitors hands Good stuff Raynardman. I hope yous get justice. To hit a farmer, hit him where it hurts most, his pocket and if he has to compensate yous then it should send a message out to trigger happy folks. At the very least hopefully he'll loose his FAC as
