    The dogs usually start knocking them out of cover around here at the end of October,November time,a local keeper usually gives me a few,a tad greasy but more than edible.

    I think the main reason certain people want paperwork with a jukel is for £££,s in the future and nothing to do with working potential.

    I very much doubt that in this green and pleasant land that short legged long backed jukel could ever have been in competition with the more recognised and better equpped mutts,the european and American terriermen beat a path to our shores for decent working dogs of the terrier persuasion.

    No one saying that what people are saying that everyone wants there dog to entry a hedge after a rabbit but its the way it entry's it slow and safe for me rather then full on and stupid.     The dog as become conditioned to a certain situation,its reacting to past experiences and acting accordingly,as certain Collie types are prone to do,its not lazy or jacking as some would have you believe.Change the situation to give the dog more stimulus,ferreting bunny,s,working free,daytime,having to use its senses to locate,run and catch,if lamping change your lamping style,use a filter,shorter and kicked up slips,no long slips and slips that have the bunny running towards cover.Stay off ground the dog is accustomed to,nothing will cure the dog fully now,they soon learn to work any situatio

    Tail docking should be up to the individual owner,not certain organisations etc. that have little understanding of the lifestyle of a working dog.Certain working dogs suffer with entire tails and need docking.Ive never seen a terrier suffer because of a long tail,underground or on top,i think its more for appearance to dock terrier tails,same as Rotty,s,Dobermans and Weimeraner,s,yet again it should be the owners choice,its a quick simple procedure causing negligible suffering.You can take a teenager and take a blade to his John Thomas,or mutilate a lasses beaver in the name of religion,take a

    Certain bitches,especially when in season,become less than sociable and will fight anything that puts weight on their back,ive only encountered it once,missed lining the bitch the 1st time,next season i dropped her back legs over an horizontal pole with her feet just touching the ground,one lad held her at the front,i held her at the rear and moved her tail,the dog then duly obliged,not ideal but worth the trouble involved.

    That sort is in the minority in the lurcherworld,they rarely have anything worth viewing,or bred from,thus would not be willing to put their dogs ability on show,for fear of embarrasment and ridicule,genuine breeders and workers of honest lurchers easily see through the chancers,dreamers and wannabe,s out there,most of the time.Ive bought pups in the past,after satisfying myself they were worth buying,ive sold pups and refused a sale to certain people because i did not believe it best served the mutt.

    It never ceases to amaze me the level of stupidity amongst certain folks,if you want a pup out of dogs doing the business,then get out and see the parents of said jukels at work,if for any reason the owner,owners,cannot meet with this,then walk away and try elsewhere,simples,or should be to anybody with a modicum of nous.

    yep no wind . fog on 1st permission. . then 4 runs on the 2nd permission . 3 rabbits in the bag. We got within 10 feet of 2 very green roe but that was all we seen If you can get to within 10 ft,next time unclip the battery and throw that at em.

    If im wanting rabbits for the pot,its out with the nets,then it depends on the location,how many im willing to see run again or if the dogs need the runs.
