    Seen some good collie blooded lurchers down the years take fox and bigger game with ease in daylight but on the lamp it was a different story,not saying they would not take them but they were more reluctant to go in on them in the dark.I also think and its jmo that a colliex that is ran a fox 3-4 times a week on the lamp will soon give up the ghost especially if its geting the buisness end everytime it takes 1,seen a real game colliexgreyxbull that done it week in week out some years back and best ive had personally was halfx deerhoundxgrey.

    How many of you lads have stoped diging for this season,we finished last sunday but had a good season accounting for a lot of game with a limited amount of terriers,also would like to thank DEE MAC of here for helping us out with a loan of one of his terriers SAM which has seen a fair bit of graft since weve had him,hope i can return the favour in some form through time.

    You should have showed them gate soon as they pulled up because they are only trying to suss out the surroundings and guarenteed to be back and it aint layers that there after,i personally dont entertain them for a second.

    the last one i had was 3/4 russell 1/4 staff and she was a good mixer Dog i hav here Danny is goin on 5 year old this year and as yet he dont sound ,he may do a little sounding while traveling up to his game but very little and when he connects the sounding stops there but he has never let us down and been dug to a hell of a lot.

    There is also a lot of lads will keep on diging write through the summer killing everything that comes there way,then complain come next september or there abouts that game is scarce,in my opimion everything has a season.

    I think people are too quick to knock the bullx let it be terrier busher or hound.Its not that many years ago that all around my area the main diging dogs were almost all of staffx breeding and worked to a high standard in pre ban days and also pre locater days.We had a small staff bitch up until last season that had a brilliant nose on her and was dug to on more than a few occasions and we bred her with a well seasoned patt dog and i have a dog goin on 5 year old that has nothing more to prove as far as diging goes.A cockerxstaff may not be everybodys choice but then its the owner that has to

    I think it depends on what he has bred to what if you know what i mean.Do you know the parents of your pups James,and what way they were bred,if you do then you may be able to trace back to who's line there out of or what line is xd with what.

    If TP terriers are GOULD,PARKES,AND AC bred then how can he have a line of his own,he may have bred a few pups but its all someone else's breeding.He also had a dog called no nose teddy if im right and he was bred by someone else aswell.His wife bred some usefull wheatens if memory serves me right.

    I really like that pic but to see the sheep and the stags together is a new one to me as anywhere i shoot deer it seems they are never in a field where sheep are held or grazed.I have shot deer in fields through the season and the minute the sheep are moved to these same fields the deer go elsewhere,anyone else notice this.?

    Myself and my shooting mate went out for a shot at pheasant or woodcock this morning.We parked up the van and decided we would do a complete circle of land in gun club ground.Well we walked a lot of ground and the springers hunted at there best puting up a few hens but no cock bird to be found but we still returned to the van with 4 real good mallard and 2 teal,water everywhere and duck on most of it,so not a bad morn.

    I know of 1 such man who has a line of terriers goin on 50 year now and has only outcrossed a couple of times in that lenght.I myself have a bitch from his line of terriers and last year bred her back to a dog of his on his advice which i greatly apprieate.This man has the most consistant line of workers i have come across in my time with terriers which is almost 40 year.I now have 2 young 6month old bitchs from that mating and when they prove themselves over a few seasons and if i need more youngsters i will again ask this mans advice on a suitable dog for them as he is the 1 that knows whats

    if you here or know of anyone sellin a working terrier let me know thanks Start at the begining with a pup from good honest working parents then get to know someone thats doing a bit and try and get out with them to sort of school your pup as it progresses age wise.There are plenty that will take your money and tell you what you want to hear about a dog then when they have it in there pockets laugh all the way home.If you do decide to buy a worker make sure you get a decent trial with the dog-bitch before you part with cash.
