  1. If thats what you think tommy then you obviously have not seen a good dog work badger {pre ban of course}.
  2. Most important tool i use is a good reliable terrier, after that various shovels, grafters and heavy bar and last but not least locater system.
  3. Should make it danny, also the dee side terrier club will be there, hopefully the gods are with you and the sun is shining.
  4. A yes Liam but we still got there regardless and a good turn out it was,we had to leave just before it finished as i had to be back for 6 for personall reasons.Seemed like most of the country had a representive there so looking good.OH and i got to see STOPEND in the flesh, ugly c**t,only joking mark fair play to ya.
  5. What is the problem with using bull blood in terriers anyway, most patterdales have bull blood in there make up somewhere along the line and any man that is using bullx terriers is doing so to suit his own needs and the type of diging dog he wants,no one is asking anybody else to do it.Why put border in a lakeland or lakeland in a bedlington, its to suit your own preference,if someone dont like it well fk them.
  6. Young man you always say the right thing dont you,on an open form why dont you just keep quiet.
  7. I remember that meeting, intentions were good but communication was a big problem at the time.We dont have that problem this time.Even Fatman has one of them P and T wind up phones, like they had on Green Acres years ago. Lol,Liam your still sending smoke signals up there in the hills,ye mad auld hillbilly.
  8. Thats tough Brian, bad enough to loose 1 but 2 is a disaster.
  9. Heard he was last seen running naked through a red light in blessington, now that would be a sight to see, lol.
  10. Also got a halfx, pattxstaff very good worker not too big, smaller than most black dogs about me,also have his daughter, she is half lakey quarter pattxstaff and a real handy size, only 8months but both her litter brother and sister have been dug to by accident.I used to keep bullxrussells years back found them a good terrier to work to ground.
  11. Have met jigsaw on a couple of occasions and found him to be nothing less than a gentleman and also a very educated man man in the world of working dogs, both diging and running dogs.I also think at this present time we should be helping each other and sticking up for our right to hunt not bickering with each other over the net for all to see.
  12. Yes there is such a thing as pure Booth blood. Yes he used dogs from here in his line of terriers rices brandy etc. Then the man perfected the breeding ruling out any weaknesses which made them the dogs they are today . The man deserves credit instead of getin slaggd of on here. Show me where i slagged him of or said anything to give reason for offence, pull in your reins south paw.
  13. Is there such a thing as pure booth blood, from what i gather he came across to ireland for reasons of his own and a lot of his terriers were bred over here using dogs from here, right or wrong, correct me if im wrong as i never met the man or never had any reason to do so.
  14. Good work danny, hatefull job where cubs are concerened but when the farmer requests it has to be done.
  15. Young man you come across as an arrogant little prick, why dont you just read some off the posts and try and learn something from them not give guff every chance you get about something you practically know nothing about,ps,go fill in them holes you left open like a good little boy and when you have done that,GROW UP.
  16. Too big to go to ground,BULLSHIT,i have one here bullxpatt, halfx and he is smaller than the patts i have or most i have seen.Plenty on here know the dog and have seen him work, will stay to the death, great finder and does not get pushed around.I can remember a time long before the black dogs were brought into this country the russells and bullxrussells of every percentage were the main diging dogs, also matthews 88 i have seen a hell of a lot of small terriers that did not want to go to ground and it was not there size that was stoping them. its the pit x terrier that dont fit to ground but
  17. Big pup for 4months old,all the best with it.
  18. I totally agree with you dee that the prices that people are charging for non working bred pups let alone workers is ridiculas.Good working bred pups of any breed are geting harder to find now and then you have the wankers advertising pups as this, that, and the other breeding and not a word about it,all lies.I know 1 man whose name has been attached to a few different dogs of late and all completely lies just to sell pups and there is always some unfortunate egitt that will believe them and buy and then they in turn will sell there offspring using the same mans name as the breeding resulting in
  19. R.I.P. JOHN,met him a few times.he used to do a lot of his coursing around my area, also he used to run a little show in castlebellinham.
  20. Id imagine the stud fee would be big bucks now lol,but fair do to its owner the way she trained it.
  21. Why does everyone seem to think that bullx's are mad hard, agree some are same as a lot of black dogs and russells for that matter, but there are some very good diging bullx's that are just mixers same as any other breed.40 year ago in ireland before the influx of black dogs the bullxrussell was a very popular terrier for diging and was vastly used in this country with great success as was the sealyhamxrussell down the south of the country.I have seen some top bullxrussells work down the years and they were as good as any other terrier i have worked or seen work.
  22. Dee about 6 year ago i actually bought a working border dog of a chap i know for 300 euro. This dog was 3 to 4 year old at the time and came with a proper trial with no money parting until i was happy with said dog.The dog was dug to twice on his 1st day out with me and again dug twice before i contacted its owner. He was a very reliable dog, great finder and stayed the distance, little hard for his own good but he could not be faulted for that as that was his way of working which was to be the end of him after my diging mate had a very hard 8ft dig to him and 2 days later rusty died even though m
