  2. only get what you pay for try heating the hook first before re bending, ie hot air gun
  3. where did that info come from, did they also say not to put them down warrens in case they pick up ticks or fleas in the summer, the box just gets woodchip put in, winter time, I add some hay or straw, whatever is around at the time, if they get hot, they will move, rather than bake
  4. must be an age thing, as I found this using google "weasel pictures cat_weasel.bmp
  5. just the way I like it
  6. Id suggest an e bay search, when I bought my standard mk3 I got it for £127 inc free next day delivery, on a "buy it now" advert, either that or phone around a few suppliers getting standard quotes on a mk3m and one collar, then start haggling on another two collars, its a buyers market out there at the moment or, if your interested in a mk3 and three/four collars, pm a member from here called richie, he had one for sale few weeks back, he may still have it
  7. love the jacks, and beddy too
  8. whenever I open up a rabbit, and find something that dont look great, I cut out and bin that bit, but freeze the rest, moving everthing in the freezer in rotation, so newer stuff ends up on bottom but in answer to your question; no idea
  9. have most of the above covered, our firm changed ownership, who in turned changed all our uniform for red stuff of course, seeing that happen, I stock piled uniform and have polo shirts, sweat shirts, fleeces, body warmers and trousers etc coming out my earholes, in green, with the old company name, so will be quite easy for my missus to sew on a new embroided company name, as for the paperwork, again I already do all that when looking at new ferreting permissions, so its only really the "money" side I was stuck on, thanks to those who have pm'd me, I also did an evening talk few weeks ba
  10. some of you may know that I work for a large company, sub contracted to london underground to do their pest control, well apart from the odd private job here or there, I havent gone any further in trying to get my own work, well after a chat yesterday with another pestie, decieded it was time to take the plunge, and advertise in the local paper, the paper goes out to 51,000 homes, and starts tomorrow, paid for a months worth at £99, so fingers crossed it brings some work in, especially as the local council stopped doing pest control last year, and as Im the only pestie advertising, it gets it
  11. now you just need to deal with the fly infestation,

  13. have you tried looking in the "ferret section", also was it your post, or someone else's, theres lots of ferret court topics in there, so more info would be needed to find it
  14. yup, an extension lead, I had lots of 110volt extension leads from building site, just cut the old plug/sockets off and fitted 240v ones, its plugged in the kitchen, then into the garage, where it has a socket, then into "wasps workshop" where it powers a couple of Industrial sewing machines, then onto my end of the garden, running lights, freezer and spare sockets, probably not ideal in a electricians eye's, but its never blown a fuse
  15. joe, I'll vouch for richie10, he's a good bloke, you wont go far wrong
  16. dont run before you can walk, theres no rush, take a year to enjoy this seasons ferreting, read some books plus look through old posts on here, thinking of the hours you work, taking care of one or two ferts is acceptable, although probably not ideal, as they still need a bit of your time, but having an extra 6 to 12 kitts, takes it up a level on the amount of time needed
  17. good of you to appologise, all pest species, are only that because of "us" if they lived in the middle of nowhere, then they wouldent be "a pest" therefore any pest killed by us, has to me done HUMANLY" thus a live caught rat, would be despatched with an air pistol/rifle, the same rat, could be taken by a dog, after smoking it out of its earth, but the same rat couldent be given to a dog from a live catch trap, as thats reguarded as in humane. and the same goes for most pests, like its ok to shoot wood pigeons over a farmers field, your reason is its eating the crops, but the same wood pi
  18. surely, your best bet would be to contact DEBEN
  19. last year I kept jills, intact hobs and castrated hob altogether in a court, with kitts, no problems untill the kitts were around 4 weeks old, then the intact hobs got rather randy with kitts, so pulled all the hobs out,

    BAD DAY

as above, think she's got a spot of swine flu....
  21. I doubt it mate, I tried simular idea with pidgeon netting a few years back, most stuff produced nowdays are coated with a flame retardent substance, making it more rigid, a longnet needs to be like silk, so as to allow lots of bag, not only on the length, but hieght too, thus tangling the rabbit up as it hits the net, think you'll find the building site stuff wont do that, the rabbits will just bounce of it, and dissapear back down a whole but of course, I could be wrong
