    It's not a case of, if race riots kick off, simply when they will kick off. Then the spineless bstards who govern us will wring their hands and wonder why, ignorantly blissful to the fact they orchestrated it by their handling of immigration and decisions and sentences such as those mentioned above.

    My first lurcher had a heart murmer, he was worked hard all his days and had eventuallyto be pts about sixteen as his back end gave out. My thoughts were as someone mentioned, if your going to go, then it'll be doing what you were bred for and not laid up like a fat dung beetle.

    I actually do get where your coming from, but, one mans bog standard lurcher is anothers pride and joy. Also the chunky heavy pup at an early age doesn't always end up a heavy adult, in fact a well bred reared litter should look chunky regardless of how they're bred and you could possibly be destroying the best pups. Admittedly it's easier to euthanase a younger pup but me personaly I'd rear the lot, make my decision and find homes for the surplus. Also, if your dogs are good enough to be bred from you should have enough homes to go around regardless of physical shape. This however leads to

    so they throw to the collie there no good for lurcherwork?, what about ferreting?, longnetting?, general mooching?, a dog throwing to a collie is a better candidate for genuine lurcherwork than half the racy dogs out there which would be kept alive due to looks aloneI've seen heavily built dogs lamping hours after there racy counterparts are exhausted, it's a good man that can look at a young pup and predict it's capabilities as an adult. Going with the amount of lurchers in rescues and failures in general your arguement doesn't hold water.

    i do know what wastage means when said, but being a "snob" i think it's callous the way some people treat and talk about their dogs............i dont know anyone who has kept a whole litter of lurchers or terriers unless there has just been two or three pups .........................at the end of the day i would rather give my pups to a pet home than a lot of the so called working homes on here.............     Hi Stroller, can't say that has been my experience, used my goldens 4/5 days a week at one point and found them as keen at the end as the start.

    This is the problem, they use the full weight of the law to their advantage and we laugh it off, plod should have been called immediately and reported someone was brandishing a firearm (think it's a shotgun officer) in the direction of law abiding citizens going about a perfectly legal pursuit.     Going back a good few years now I had a handy couple of working goldies from decent lines which I never replaced for one reason or another. Anyway after much deliberation and even more searching (they're like hens teeth) I managed to source a well bred litter in the back woods of darkest Norwich (eighteen hour round journey) and aquired a dog pup. Brings back many memories most common being, nice dog is there goldie in there somewhere, or what cross is that.     No offence intended, but, there are a lot of dogs out there both alive and dead that will never have a mention in despatches that were probably the equivilant and better than the Scooby dog. Plummers merle must be a legendary albeit dead animal. To be fair I don't think the man tried to big the dog up, just wrote a book about an animal he cared for and rated in his opinion. Don't mean it was anything special to the next man.

    I'd expect any collie blooded lurcher to take feather, the more collie in the mix, the greater likliehood, also of course gundog crosses. I've seen lurchers hunt and take feather with the same enthusiasism as fur.

    Might be well off the mark, but, they sound like born yappers. Probably the main reason terrier crosses, bedlingtons aside, aren't more popular is the risk of yapping progeny.

    Noticed there seemed to be more than your normal amount of begging adverts on the box, so hopefully they are feeling the pinch. They've lost a lot of high profile court cases lately with prosecutions and contesting peoples wills and legacys, maybe Joe public is catching on to the fact the majority of the donations they make don't actually benefit the animals they intended it to.

    Privatise the NHS, well bits have already been privatised and look what has happend, so much for standards improving. What about the folk who can't afford to go private?...maybe you would prefer a system like the USA where if you can't pay you don't get treatment. What is disgusting is that someone with a 20 room mansion can pay the same in council tax as someone is in a 2-3 bedroomed council flat. Or Multi millionaires who don't pay tax at all. If your all for equality why is some dickhead of a politician or banker allowed to earn more than a soldier, nurse or fireman for that matter?
