    I know where your coming from, you can train a dog, lurcher/terrier/gundog and yes you can have a handy animal, but the dog that's put back in the kennel to allow us to do other things will never be the equal of a dog that genuinely lives with you by your side. Even guys on here with decent dogs who have other commitments could look back at their younger less demanding days and remember when the bond seemed just that bit more natural and stronger. I'd hazard a guess at less failures and fewer dogs changing hands/for sale as well in the past.

    One small sentence in the middle of all that shows you for what you are, deluded, " my critics and fans alike". Even in your swansong your still directing people to your writings looking for the attention you obviously crave. This post needn't even have existed except for your need for people to massage your ego, you wanted to opt out of society/ratrace/normal life, call it what you will, but you sure as hell wanted every man and his dog to know you were doing it.

    This earth child, this custodian of the land that has survived (so he says) from the game that has fallen prey to his many air rifles (bought how) is so in tune and sympathetic with nature that someone has went to the trouble of getting an eviction order, you might want to ask yourself why?.
