  1. Connected last night on evening flight , came into a shallow pond,
  2. Really good calibre 270 tried and tested, a lot better behaved with a mod fitted, I enjoyed the one I had ,
  3. I have seen that myself, people shooting in desperation at what they can’t hit, and forcing them higher and higher , that’s the downside of foreshore shooting, I did it for years, at gedney drove end,
  4. It will be a challenge if we don’t get water, I am lucky enough to have some decent bits of river, and some small warm gutters, geese here roost on the solway and flight out on the morning,
  5. Having to feed the small gutters and rivers, as the ponds are dry , hoping we get some reasonable rain fall soon
  6. Any of you lads know how to get the pard to play back on the iPad, I have down loaded the OKCAM app , got the Wi-Fi on the tablet can see the pard Wi-Fi, asked for the password no issues, but the iPad just won’t connect to it, the little wheel spins and I can’t get the blue tick which means connected, any one else had this problem?
  7. I spoke to a guy I know down in Morecambe, and he says the same good numbers starting to show, it’s interesting because we don’t have the stubble fields we normally have, ground being dry the farmers have made the most of the good conditions, and got them turned over really quickly,
  8. Cheers it looks good, but having trouble getting it to connect to my iPhone, even with the OKCAM app, looking forward to getting a go with it, I have a Yukon photon on at the minute and that has been a good sight for me,
  9. I have just been and bought the gpo after spending all day looking through different scope’s, and comparing them, and in truth I like it, it was as bright and clear as the zeiss , mind you the Steiner was too , I also bought a pard 008 which I am just trying to set up, with a memory card.
  10. Good stuff lads, I am seeing more and more now , a decent number on a stubble field yesterday, but I am starting to see small skein’s very high coming in from north / north east , looking forward now even the dog looking towards the sound of them .
  11. Any idea what fat ratio he used , I made a load into sausage once but I think I should have used more fat, they were ok but very meaty
  12. We have some small skeins of greylags but mainly residents, brother says what he is seeing down the Humber , are mainly residents and a small skein of pinks, I have lost contact with anyone south of there down to like gedney drove end,
  13. Good stuff, any luck they will be down the solway, a wk or so
  14. Any body know if the geese are on their way, I hear the numbers are staring to show around Aberdeen,
  15. Same up here, a lot of ponds are still dry, a lot of birds on the gutters and rivers,
  16. Just been told to try gpo optics, German precision optics, anyone tried them
  17. Thanks for that, I have never tried the meopta, once looked through one many years ago and it was very clear and had bright optics, I am going to rescope my 6.5x55, 223 and 22 hornet the 22 rimfire I was going to put the hawke rimfire scope on,I don’t want to have to do this again so thought I would look at the scopes with the best warranties.
  18. Can I ask has anyone got one any advice, I am about to change my scopes on my rifles, I am torn between my first choice is zeiss, or meopta, and vortex, I will also be buying probably a pard 008 , I am not a guy rolling in Money, but have stalked since the mid 80’s , and want something with good low light capability, for my stalking rifle, I am updating all my scopes ready for me to go part time / semi retire , I have 4 rifles and will update them all before I go part time , so I would take any advice I can get , I have never looked through a vortex scope, but they do seem popular, with go
  19. I find the Winchester sx4 very good easy to strip and clean and reliable, cheap enough , I use mine on geese crow pigeon and fox, and it never misses a beat really ,
  20. Can I ask a question that is bugging me, they say they can’t afford to appeal and try and get there guns back, and I do understand it’s very expensive, a lot of people would not be able to afford to take the police to court to challenge their decision and reclaim their guns back, and it’s rather convenient that most of the shooting organisations have this last couple of years taken the legal expenses cover off their membership, however If you have legal cover on your house insurance surely they would fight it for you, ie if it went to court, or have I misunderstood the whole legal prote
  21. I have seen on utube people fire forming 303 brass for 410, and I know magtech do them, although not the 3 inch shells, I would like to load the 18 grm no 6’s or 5’s , I seem to use mine all the time for decoying crow and around buildings and such, I am worried when we have to use steel loads, I know that’s not a immediate concern , however my gun choke combination is spot on for me , I don’t want to have to take the full choke out, so I will look around for a unsilenced barrel for it, I see TSS shot is becoming available and I think it will be interesting to dabble with the loads abit , I kno
  22. I don’t need nothing technical , it’s getting one over here, I am going to email them I think, if you don’t mind me asking what powders do you use, and have you tried to load say steel, you would think some one would come up with a set dies for the lee presses ie the rifle loading presses, I have plenty of that gear
