  1. If you look at them all, they look like something out of a toy story movie I agree, I got the same impression with quads first time I bought one, but underneath all the plastic is a solid chassis, I suppose it’s a leap of faith pick one and try it.
  2. They are mate but very similar in a lot of ways, only do one lesson a time, she is very young at 10 wk, too young, she will show you when she’s ready ie she will start carrying things around, as her confidence grows you consider her next lesson, it’s important not to discourage her ie, don’t chase her, or grab things off her, if she brings you something take it off her and give her it back, don’t let people have conversations with her, keep everything simple, remember raise them quiet they will be quiet, but let her have her puppyhood,
  3. Do you think one would fit inside a container, just to secure it mind, somebody would nick it knowing my luck
  4. Hi trigger, how old is it, dog or bitch, labs are great dogs I prefer to keep them picking up/ retrieving, and for beating a spaniel, however they will beat really well, take your time get the dog steady do plenty of sit training, don’t start it too early, there’s a load of information out there, it’s sorting the crap out, as you will get a lot of that, good luck with it,
  5. It’s making me feel old mate, I am only 55 I feel sorry for my dad I must have drove him bloody mad,
  6. There’s a guy on there done a review, he sold his Polaris I think, as he had loads of issues, and bought a Honda pioneer, he does a second review a year later, and to be fair it’s not a bad review, if you listen to him, basically the Honda hasn’t missed a beat, no surprises there, he does say his other Polaris, had issues that may have been associated with his local retailer, things like it hasn’t had its coolant system bled properly, however that’s only one of the issues, for me the Honda seems to be streets ahead of the others,
  7. Looking at the Honda pioneer on utube and they look very good reliability and such, I tried to lift it and post it here, ie post a link but I am thick when it comes to technology,
  8. Same for us but times are changing, every lad in our village had at some point fallen out of a chestnut tree, part of growing up ,
  9. Thing with them are they weatherproof, or do they need storing inside, as I would have to get some garage space, my quad is inside at the minute, so I suppose anything without a cab would be knackered in no time ,
  10. Well I spoke to an old farmer in the lakes about them, he has both, he runs Yamaha grizzly’s and a John Deer utv, he said without the utv he would not be farming he’s too old and the weather is too much for him now, which backs up what you are saying, he has fell sheep and a lot of them, I spoke to a farmer around the corner from me who also has a older John Deer utv who I catch moles for, and he said they are great things but his takes a bit of keeping on the road, ie maintenance, from what I can find online they seem to think the Kawasaki mule it the most reliable, but it’s still early
  11. Be good to see how they do, I have always been interested in casting bullets but never done it.
  12. As above I agree a net is without doubt a better option, snaring works well, but not done that for years, netting isn’t that hard if you are observant enough,
  13. Yes mate they will, you usually find the grey will push in and displace / bully the red out, ie the red was in first, if the grey is in first you see the red come straight out after entering in a panic, I have seen them come out of rooks nests, I have just killed a dozen or so greys in a rookery and not a drey to be seen, I am certain they are living in the abandoned rooks nests, if you sit back with the bino’s you will see an odd nest full of oak leaves, they are hard to spot mind.
  14. I am not, I know people who have them they say they are good to use but, they have had issues I want peoples opinions on the whole utv front I see loads of keepers using them, yet very little is said about them as regards reliability and running costs and such, I am seeing Kawasaki mules at around 7to 8k I won’t buy one if they are poor, they look better for carting the terriers and such but I can get a decent Honda trx 500 for around the 4 k mark, I don’t want brand new I always buy nearly new second hand,
  15. I have never had a Kawasaki quad I do hear they are reliable, that’s why I looked at the Kawasaki mule, all the rest are a bit inconsistent with reliability, or that’s what I am hearing
  16. Right I am about to invest in one or the other, and I wanted to see other peoples opinions. I am considering a Honda trx 500 that is what I will probably end up buying however I keep looking at Kawasaki mules and to be honest I am swaying towards them, my main needs are, I do an awful lot of mole catching, and being an ex miner and spending most my life chasing things ie in the countryside, I think I am about knackered, hips screwed back screwed kind of thing, but I will not give up I have lived for it for too long, Anyway I need something for trapping and fetching logs, a general
  17. I kill the greys, to support the reds and they are coming back nicely where I am
  18. They never put too much resistance up to a decent BB shel, hit them right it’s like a drugs bust, great fun
  19. How is it fastened onto the pickup at the bar end, it looks a good bit of kit that,
  20. Good luck with it, as I say no experience of the CM , but the swede is a very pleasant gun mine is not as good with lighter bullets but it is still quiet accurate it just tends to shred the jackets on the ones I have tried, so I tend to stick to the 140 grn but would like to try the 150 if I could find some bullet heads local to me, other than that it drops them very quickly nothing gets away, and I always see the bullet strike which I like, and if I take anyone out they all choose the 6.5 over the 270 so I got rid of the 270,
  21. I have no experience with the creedmoor, I have had the swede for a long time and never felt the need to change, I just thought it funny when you mentioned meat damage,
  22. Can I ask What round are you using in the 6.5 x 55 or are you using the Grendle I have had no issues as regards making a mess of a Deer and I have used one 20 yr granted on roe red and fallow, I have not shot cwd with one , I use 140 grn for the lot, and have a 90 grn for fox
