  4. I use a tin of carb cleaner, and wire wool, 300/400 rounds on the 22 rf I must say the SAK moderators are alot better than the old parker hale moderators for cleaning,
  5. Blaise that was really worth watching thankyou, for sharing that spot on mate,
  6. That was a good day mate, bet the terrier enjoyed it,
  7. Ferrets can be spot on for bolting rats as said before some take well to it,as for when the rats above ground a terrier is then needed, or another means of dispatch, however to be honest for the best results when bolting them in big rat set's, an old chainsaw engine set up as a smoker will put them topside quicker, but for the odd rat they are spot on,
  8. They can get stiff, but shouldnt be too stiff as to how much pressure to use,I think each has his own threshold,it should be a firm push it maybee that the solvent is swelling the patches too much ,so you will need less patches on the rod/jag,
  9. I do like the look of these, not over priced too like most you see,and not as big and cumbersome, I know I will buy one at some point,
  10. I agree wrong enviroment to be cutting on defence but the bean counters wont listen, fire fighting problems instead of managing them,
  11. It looks very good how long do you smoke the meat for?? and have you tried dehydrating it into jerky?
  12. try and long net them at night mate, you get the ferrets under big lumps of brambles yes you will bolt some, but much more productive at night with a net, weather allowing
  13. I like the look of what looks like jerky drying on that rack mate, what are you useing for seasoning??
  14. I once heard that now the wild boar are back, the truffle numbers should start to increase, I don't know if that's true I hope so,
  15. Wullz, thats what I am finding too water every where,no definate flight ponds just jumping from flash to flash, and there not hungry in my opinion, like whats said before there's loads of teal around, and the geese don't seem to be following the same patterns,
  16. Thats the kind of kid we need coming through the sport, well done, keep him at it,a lad like that will do you proud and with a good interest shouldnt go off the rails, PS,keep him off the mackyD's rabbit burgers better only joking
  17. Education is the only way,you cant fight a belief, while ever one person caries that belief you have lost the fight and some good men aswell, but christ his little sister,f*****g cowards,
  18. I have never looked through one,but I can gaurantee I wont over scope it, I will probably look for a 3x9x40 or 45 I have started looking around,as I wont pick the gun up for another month or so,
  19. The simple reason is that the Rem cases are thinner than Winchester so have a greater internal capacity, you do notice this with some cases, we worked up a good accurate load for my mates 6.5x55 swede, and with a load that was fine with, I think Lapua cases,(could have been Hornady) they were over pressure in Privi cases, so it pays to start low and work up, when changing any components, as for the case flare die, well I always trim/chamfer the case, and I tried both with and without case flaring, and noticed an improvement when flared, I think because Hornet bullets are flat based, the flare
  20. Good luck, I am out in morning as well done it for last 15 yr or so, happy new yr as well,
  21. Point taken mate,I suppose I take alot for granted, it must be awkward I dont envy you,
  22. problem is freezing them , I can prepare them later when there in bed its just if she sees them in the freezer in the morning there will be war and everything in there might be fecked out . Same woman wont handle raw chicken I would manage her expectations, bloody hell mine are gutted straight away, hung for at least four days unless its really cold then about a week, when the weathers cold they are hung on the back wall of the house, and sod them, everyone who comes to the house walks past them and no one complains, you can get a meter from bushwear that you hang on the meat,to tell yo
  23. I would think it was over the top but others might disagree, most rimfires are acurate enought, where does it end,get a reasonable scope on, decent amunition once you find the right amunition stick to that brand, and practice you will soon be confident, dont over think it,and if you want one hole perfection, then tweek things as you go along,
