They are smart looking dogs, jreathdog a real credit to you, the more I see these dogs the more driven I am to hunt with one,
-
I don't know who looks keener him or the ferret, spot on, you got a top enthusiastic hunting partner there ,who you can trust I hope you have many days like it,
-
I know I will own one of these dogs everything about them, fascinates me,my farther said they were the best dogs he ever saw but couldn't afford one, thankyou very much for your write up, it has answered a lot of things for me, I am focusing on getting one next yr and would love some blood line info, what's good and not, I don't buy show dogs,or dogs too closely bred, and love dogs with real prey drive, and it's good to read a post from someone with real depth of knowledge,

Castrating Dog Reducing Sense Of Smell
3175darren replied to hootacha's topic in Gundogs & Retrievers
I agree with camokev the dogs still young and imature,to make that decision,it will most probably drop over next couple of months,as for loosing his scenting ability, no dont think so,however I do think the lack of testicles can in some cases maybee affect prey drive, allthough alot of castrated dogs work very very well,it depends how they are brought on, -
I use them, when I get one dig in to the side of a duffus, ie a tunnel I missed when I originally set the duffus,or close to the public footpaths,as they are less vissible, them nomols do the same,I dont have many, maybe a dozen or so and the same with nomols,

looks nice dog, quite racey how much in it .?I am not entirely sure he was bred, first cross ACD lurcher bitch to a racing whippet sire, I bought it off original owner at twelve week old, he was working stock and I think she thought he would make a pet, thank god she saw sense,
-
I Have one,and he's spot on,a really good allrounder, I will have another one at some point, mines 22 inch to the shoulder, very loyal hard working and when you hear him crack up at the door, when someone he does not like comes a knocking you can tell he means it,very intense dogs when they work 110 %or nothing,he will retrieve and flush feather extremely well, then go into rabbit mode at the drop of a hat,ho does get rather intense on rabbit mind, where as with everything else he is more bidable i hope this works this is him after a duck flight

They are easy to use mate, make sure you put them two a time, into a used run push jaws down into run bottom,to jently cover them,I have a decent size lanyard on mine,to peg them down, the only thing I find is the springs dont seem to retain much strength, and if you are in sand soil when the runs have been established for a long time, the tube/run is a lot larger than the jaw span, so sometimes I think the mole dosent hit the trap square on,you are not saying if the traps are disturbed when you find them,or not as the case may be,

That Irish Lad is me. Hey up mate how's the dog coming on,I have a particular interest in there blood scenting abilities,

If everyone wrote to them, and demanded a copy of all the footage containing there image, they would be legally bound to supply it,and they would also have to blank anyone else's image out present at the recording and prior to issue ing you with your copy, and they could only charge a nominal fee, this is enshrined in the freedom of information act, if we all did that on every occasion they would be snowed under, and if they had foccussed on any individual they could be questioned as to why, if done correctly it would bog the whole process down,

Its gone beyond any sense, or rational, they should be prosecuted for false reporting, they are simply making things up to dramatise there efforts, and this bloody goverment swallows it,how a few irrational, emotionally charged, anarchists, can cause so much harrasment to people and get away with it, is beyond me, I wonder what the french would do,????

Roe From Field To Plate With One Knife (Fieldcrafter)
3175darren replied to midnight's topic in Hunting Equipment
Its good to see someone putting a product through its paces, smart looking knives, and clearly on top of there work, -
You have not mentioned distances, but the 55g or bit more common 58g V max types are hard to beat in many situations. But it's a .243, 2000ft lb., give or take a bit, use whatever you like it will stop a fox easy!! Dekers right, only thing I would do is try a few different rounds see which one suited the gun best, I used 243 for a few yrs and had a couple of different guns, both guns, were not there best with the lighter rounds, but loved 75 grn hollow points for foxes and 85 grn soft points for deer, they were both crap with 100 grn bullets,my mates Tika 243 was the opposite, down to the

Simply submit a firearms variation form, outlineing your requirements, and your reasons for the variation as in deer stalking, with a letter proving you have authority from the farmer to control Deer, and your variation fee and licsence, and leave it to them, they will do the rest, you get the form from your firearms licencencing department, make sure you have enough ammo for your other calibres, while its in for variation,

Ha ha. They should be thanking the BASC and polishing it with their wings after the abolition of the proposed National Pigeon and Pest Control Day some years back. I was just about to renew my BASC membership when the storm blew up and haven't joined again since. I had a real problem with them, after the lead ban for wildfolwing I really dont think they stand up for us strong enough,

Trouble is, are the idiots making subliminal messages to the weak minded, ahead of any hunting re-vote, as in brain washing, people who are at an age where they cant control there emotions?,is this a brian may google ball??????????????????????????????????????Kids Indoctrinated by way of music,I trust nothing in advertising, and the goverment need,to monitor this kind of influencing, its tantamount to what Hitler did,Influence the kids change the future,
-
Spot on,too many idiots
-
I have seen this a couple of times, and on both times the fox bolted after the ferret had been lifted,
