  1. Look at this I hope this turns out ok I know s**t all about about this subject but here's a photo I came accross
  2. Probably around £180, maybe slightly more. So whats the list of components needed if you don,t mind me asking??
  3. I am hitting ulswater next month, trolling lures and a bit of fly fishing I usually fish two flies a small dry on the dropper, and a gold wickhams or hares ear nymph on the point, or similar do a bit of reading up, thing I find with ulswater is locating the fish if you get amongst them you will have a good day, without doubt, but a lot of the time you are picking the odd brownie up here and there, I put a small boat on now to give me an advantage, get away from the campsite shorelines and you will do ok,
  4. Spot on just goes to show what can happen when we don't mollycoddle people,he said his dad did nothing different for him, the guy's happy and just getting on with his life, brilliant to see,
  5. On the fieldsports channel. Mate showed me it,he didn't get a munty but shot a fox ,but if you think about it any advantage a scope can give you up in the open, must be lost in trees or woodland, and with a moving target the biggest field of view and fast focus as got to be a huge advantage,
  6. They certainly did the job there,a lot more people seem to be trying them,it would be worth having a go with one, but as said earlier they are more for the fast moving targets in woodland, and some of them shots were at a decent range, there's a guy on u tube uses them for munties on a 6.5x55,can't remember his name,
  7. So dare I ask what was the total outlay for this system????
  8. A good one for a week or so is a tin of dog meat, a tin of bounce chunks will help, after that keep there diets varied, and they will be fine,
  9. Just change there diet, it's that simple, too much of one thing is bad for anything,
  10. Trouble is which government is stuck providing for his his bloody wive and kids, send them back I say, damn good news though,
  11. i had a hawke endurance IR 2.5-10-56 on my 223 and it did the job well, to be honest I might re-fit it,I shot plenty of foxes with it,I like them for small calibre's never tried one on anything bigger than 223 though
  12. I have made long nets with hemp and it works well,a word of caution though they are heavy when wet, and a pain in the rear to dry out,and I can tell you if you don't dry the bugger it, will rot holes in itself other than that it will take rabbits well and in the dark I think they are better as regards not tangling,as much as the nylon ones or easier to manage might be a better way of putting it,good luck
  13. There's nowt wrong with a bit of weetabix, pups love it,nice looking little pups gafa they look like they are thriving
  14. The mans a new starter, and he has shown a bit of humility and asked for help, that's why he got it,not every body was lucky enough to be born into a shooting family, or chose to take the sport up at a early age, despite what people think it is his right to take up what ever legal pastimes he wants to,after the help he got on here he will probably view this forum, as being populated by a large amount of country sports people, who have a wealth of knowledge,on almost all aspects of the sport, and if its not here in England there's a huge following abroad, this forum opened my eye's as I heard a lot
  15. Spot on mate well done big drink tonight then,
  16. In most cases cheaper than a pcp airgun too, good luck hope you enjoy it,
  17. That gun is one of the best rimfire rifles ever made in my opinion, for rabbiting without doubt its a great work horse,I got a mate of mine to buy one as his first firearm about 4 yr ago, I set the scope for him,and he swears by it,I can tell you he doesn't miss much at all,he uses winchester subsonic ammo and love's them, don't give up on it,take it back and get them to sort it,
  18. I have had both, and have settled back with the bolt action,I find them more consistent than the semi's although semi's have there uses, but I have had three 2 anchutz and one brno semi auto's, and found I spent a lot of time trying to find which ammo suited the rifles the best as they are all different, where as the bolt action's its not such a problem, you find once you are used to a bolt action you can load and fire quickly and accurately no problems at all,and you dont have to strip clean them as much,I now have a cz bolt action I use RWS subsonic ammo, and I can tell you I am sticking with i
  19. The old brno,is a spot on little gun and probably only want's a bolt strip and clean, and after it will kill rabbits long after you have gone, they are proper work horse's, as for the scope, you didn't say if the shots were grouping to the left of target or spraying around, firstly check the scope and mounts are secure,do this carefully check everything, also if it has a silencer on get it off, and strip it down and clean it,did you buy this gun with the scope on or have you fitted it yourself??how old is the scope has it any signs of having a few dings in its time ?? scopes are cheap enough now to
  20. Spot on mate best thing for those grey's,
