The Lad Starts His River Career With A Bang!!
NEWKID replied to NEWKID's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Bobby, yeah they're frustrating b*****ds, I grew up right behind the river ( on the council estate not in the beauties in the background lol) we used to fish for them as lads used to drive you mad, you could see thousands of them but couldn't hook them, and when you did you'd rarely land them lol.. I lost one on Sunday they're first run is crazy, I don't think there's another fish in freshwater that takes off like them... Ant: It's a cracking stretch I grew up fishing it, a mate of mine has brought one of those places on the far bank, all run down, he's spending a fair bit putting it -
true mate but fergie being the krafty auld kunt he is would probably say f**k him lol as for ronaldo being 2nd best mate well im sorry i dont agree...........robben was immense last night against barca.......... were was messi............ bayern stuffed them 4-0 and barca never had a chance!!!! BUT at barca we might see them get hammered 6-0 lol but out of all the quality players in the worlds leagues right now..........id never say who is 1st or 2nd best..............neymar and nilmar are two off top of my head that play for "shite" teams in brazil and quatar at the min................when

Shame your feeling so down Ray, hopefully you'll get it all sorted out mate, suffer a bit with my back ( the joys of the roofing game), I go to a chiropractors and he reckons my pelvis is twisted so he keeps pulling me round like a rag doll, I aint too fond of that to be honest, first time he done it he caught me unawares I felt my spine fcking clicking right through. Fck that I can't help but tense up now Hope your on the mend soon though mate ATB Kev

Nice couple of fish there mate, well done.

Depends what your fishing for mate, you'd be best to ask the others who your fishing with or give the skipper a ring... al ways listen to the skippers advice, they're out there everyday and generally know best Good luck

Good going there mate, looks a good start to the season I fish a couple of really small back waters, ones just a loop off the main river, full of trees and bushes you can hardly move, but there's some cracking chub in amongst it. I find they fish well when the main rivers in flood, especially in the winter. ATB Kev

The Lad Starts His River Career With A Bang!!
NEWKID replied to NEWKID's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
They are mate, but they get very earthy when they're this far up the river ( I've taken them as a lad but they're not worth killing)... if you catch them in the sea they aint bad at all though.... these all went back after a quick pic -
It was Fins first trip to the tidal, his first run through with the stick, me stood behind, the float dips, "strike" I say and as he lifts the rod it's nearly pulled out of his hand. "DADDD DADDDD my arm"... 10 mins later and with a little help he's put his first mullet on the bank He wasn't finished though, I managed 1 and then he asked if he could have a go on my rod, sits himself down and bang the tip goes round ( top of the tide so hard to fish the float), the lines ripped from the reel again... and this time with a little help he puts a cracking mullet on the bank, no scales but I'd gu

There'll be some accents in display at the fishing comp.. Scott, I'm only a county away from Cornwall and its not much better lol.. Had a night a Jethros club on my 19th, had a few beers after with us and was a decent bloke IMO...

Nice one Wilf, the lad looks made up... There's nothing better IMO, the only downside is you never have a quiet trip again...lol I've started Fin on a rod now, he's coming on well, can cast a waggler ok, bait up, etc It's funny how much they learn and absorb at this age isn't it.. Cheers Kev

Absolutely right.......the ironic thing about that clip is it would seem the fella has educated himself on the law for one of two reasons.........either to stay one step ahead in his dealings with plod......or maybe he,s looking for a career in law.............my guess would be the first one.Yet the reality is most people who live their life with the possibility of coming into regular contact with ol bill usually drop that " all coppers are b*****ds " nonsense some time in their early 20,s !!.......Once you,ve been around the block a few times you tend to keep your dealings with police to the

Cheers lads and lasses The thing I can't understand is if you buy an antique sofa surely that won't come with fire regulations etc? Edited because I don't think I need to defend Lab, looks like it's a piss taking lol

Thanks mate, I'm guessing the older ones would be before kite marks etc??

lol yeah they fetch decent money mate.........but at the same time always hold it!!! remember people dont always know what there selling, so look in your local ad-mag and go and have a look at any leather sofas close by.........you never know what you might find............ Thanks mate, I like the idea of a traditional antique type, but know nothing lol... I don't want to rush in and buy something that's supposed to be 100 years old only to find its a DFS special lol...
