Hi lads, Acuspell, I don't normally run charity matches, infact this is the first match I've helped organise for years lol The exact charity has not been decided but, cancer research or something similar was the idea, the initial idea was due to the loss of 2 very close friends who I fished with ( well was taught by one) through this disease.. But this is not my match, or entirely my choice of charity.... I just put the idea out there and we've ran with it, Ossie and Arch and Lurcher1 are doing alot of the leg work on the venue and after venue pub.. The match itself is a coa -

Yeah of course TC, anything towards the event goes to charity so that would be great... Thanks -
For those lads who maybe don't go on general talk section, or who've not seen We're running a charity fishing match on the river Trent near Nottingham, on the 18th August for all THL members, It will be £10 match fees with all proceeds going to cancer charities ( TBC) we'll be having a raffle in the pub after with presentation, there'll be 3 prizes for the top 3 weights with a trophy for the winner donated by Ossie and Arch and also a special trophy in memory of Craigyboy ( donated by the stig) for the biggest fish.. All proceeds from the raffle will also go to charity. All match details

Nice brace of fish Chris, a nice method if fishing too, trundling along a lob worm I bet you pick up the occasional big chub like that too..

For years the cormorants have ruined our river and canal ( I'm not a game angler but the damage is the same), I've counted over 30 cormorants up on one pylon, the small bream and roach I the canal have been hammered now, and the eels ( which were a nuisance have all but gone...they would be killing the par too in the Exe We've said for over 20 years they're needs to be a cull, but to no avail

Really enjoyed that write up mate, and what cracking looking fish... Never seen a pike coloured like that before..
-
Well done to your lad Christian, your right to be a proud dad..

Nice work Stripes..

I can't like but have that. What is even more impressive those were built without a spirit level. just using a plumbline and a board. TC Totally agree, there are buildings I look at and can not get my head around how they were built so beautifully with such limited resources ( compared with today)... They were true craftsman and unfortunately that real eye for detail is very rare now..

Well done, Keep it up mate, not a brickie but been around the building trade most of my working life, it's not as good as it was but there's still enough about and a decent brickie is never out of work... Borderscot That is quality mate, really smart looking work, I done a little stone work years ago as a young lad labouring on a big stable block, but it was with horse hair and lime mortar, I was labouring but would jump up and help lay, I'll be honest that is one trade I would've of really enjoyed...

Nottingham would be good, you couldn't get any more central... Only fished the Trent once around Nottingham somewhere?, a quick evening session on one of my travels.... Had a nice few hours catching roach and a nice sized bream that was around 15 years ago now lol Maybe late summer would be good? End of August early sept... I'd be up for it..

Up most respect from me, I'd guess not many haven't been touched in some way now from this war... I hope all the lads get the care and respect they deserve...

my mates said he will do it for £550...........but he has to look at it first............ ok yup not bad, depends on lots of factors.access, straight wall or stepped up/down.how many piers, curves, stepped footing due to sloping ground.etc etc. trust me for £550 he will only lay lol he wont carry one block round........... but he is a good brickie so ill know he will do a good job!!! my price was with labour so about right...................... pmsl!!!!............you nr derby.......... Jesus now your mates lost the job..... Fck working for you lol
-
He only wanted a price so he could do his pal over.......... Haha, his mate turns round and says 1500 quid, and Stewie turns round " your joking aren't you, I've done my research and I know I can get it done for 1200" lol I might start using the site for my pricing in the future it'll save me loads of work... read above post mate............ I know the score mate....... Haha
-
were getting there tho!!! im meeting him there 2mora dinner and after spending my friday night at home and on here im sure ill out smart the old c**t.......... As long as you make a few bob over the top mate, Sounds a straight forward job for a brickie so you both should do ok..

Sorry to hear about your friend mate.. Hospice and other cancer charities get a bit of mine... Got a situation at the minute with a suicide, too close to home, and a bad situation all round... my mates mum killed herself when he was 13 and another mates dad hung himself a few years back plus my little lads best friends mum hung herself when he was a baby ( post natal), that's 4 I can think of straight out... Mad really and such a shame, the affects on those left behind is terrible..
-
Haha... " Give me a rough price, so I can look clever infront of my mate" 4 pages later and your none the wiser lol... Glad you asked mate....lol
