  3. coursing will never be banned here, but them coursing clubs need manners put on them thinking they own the hares, you can kind of see where their coming from though-ladies international cancelled again this year-i dont have a problem with a good dog catching a hare-people hunting leverets, lamping them etc is another story..id say there is no representative body for lurcher owners in ireland or britain..granted theres some that might want yere support in their own intrests but they think yere scum really

  7. read a bit of a book (in the shop)about a year back "sport in ireland" by a guy called james kelly(i think-surnames right anyway)..bull baiting and dogfighting were fairly popular in rural tyrone in the 1700s apparantly-(possibly bred off dogs brought over by planters.?)if you go back to the early days of the apbt the surnames of the ownerts are mostly irish e.g galvin, feely, corcoran etc..well i suppose the famine wasnt that long before that and some percentage of them were bound to be into dogs
  8. People wouldn't have their dog long if twas out the front of the house. Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay
  9. thanks Corkman,,thought that but wasnt sure-saw a few convicions of people who had adds on donedeal etc.+miss world on t.v saying it was illegal lol
  10. where does the law stand as regards docki8ng in ireland(republic)now-thought it was gone completely illegal
  11. need pet passport now,,probably a loophole through northern ireland but cant see it lasting with the amount of illegal pakis coming that way whose u.k student visas have run out
  12. You could be doing your pups alot more harm than good. Six weeks is too young, they have their mothers antibodies and they will be trying to fight the vaccination. It is completely pointless to jab so young, you'd be best waiting til they're 10 weeks old IMO.vets differ on the jab a vet told our huntsman too jab them for parvo at six weeks and then fourteen days later same again the tge 7/1 at 12 weeks my own vet says any jab before twelve weeks is wasted as they have the mothers anti bodies till then id say the first one is right Kevin,,it takes the antibodies from the injection a few weeks

  18. nice looking pup..what size do you'll think hell make
  19. Very strange that is Darbo, as even before I saw your post I have started reading the book by Fred Speakman, A Poachers Tale. A guy called Mike Tomkies put together a few decent titles, but at the moment my memory fails me to what they were called. I will let you know when I manage to look them up again. Also an outstanding Author was Gavin Maxwell of the (Otter) fame. Ring of Bright Water, Raven Seek Thy Brother, The Rocks Remain, Harpoon at a venture but one in particular I would advise for anyone to read, would be The Authorised Biography by Douglas Botting, The Saga of Ring of Bright Water
