  1. Id go with an unrelated proven working hob. If youre breeding just to take the jill out of season you could get her jabbed or use a vac hob.
  2. I have a couple of fields near me that 20 years ago were hop fields and they were full of rabbits. About the time they took the hops out the rabbits disappeared. Ive thought about releasing a few out there but there must be a reason they died out or left. Its a strange thing though because it looks like it should hold a few.
  3. ??? how can you work hard if theres no jobs ??? There's plenty of jobs if your not lazy or fussy and willing to get off your arse and look for them !! Tell me where? Ive always worked hard was on building sites from 16 years old. Now im unemployed through no fault of my own I apply for every job i can and rarely hear anything back. You see jobs advertised but theres a lot of applicants for every job so your chances arent great.
  4. Are there sheep fields near your ferreting permission? My first thoughts were tapeworm cists but if theres no white segments in them probably not.
  5. Imo hunting is a lot more ethical than the meat industry even more so when you consider all this halal shite in the supermarkets. Even if youre a vegetarian you have to accept there has been a lot of pest control to protect the crops that you eat.
  6. Finally got round to trying this stuff. Made a 4ft net yesterday not had it out in the field yet but it certainly knits nice. How many nets do you get out of a 1 kilo spool?
  7. Where do you all grow your chillis? Ive grown chillis once before outside and they didn't do very well. Windowsill is out for me as I don't have a south facing window so im thinking Ill bodge a greenhouse or small polytunnel together. Are there any strains that will give me a good chance of success? I do have some seeds here they are cayenne long slim cayenne golden black hungarian scotch bonnet twilight Anyone tried these?
  8. Looks nice. I might try similar but Ill probably use a few saddles instead of an entire rabbit.
  9. Ive come to the conclusion that they work better if started in their second season.
  10. Id say 30 mins handling is fine. That's about what mine get most days and they are very friendly.
  11. Whoopy shit its Christmas lets put a tree in the living room and eat a realy dry bird.
  12. Realy nice wouldn't mind a nice rabbiting knife myself rather than using the cheap moras or opinels
  13. That whats worrying me. Last week i got a huge shooting estate to ferret been up there 3 times already then today off the back of that i got another big perm. Im very happy ive got new land just wish id got it in Sept/Oct as theres no way i can cover all this land before the rabbits start breeding. Should be good for next season though.
  14. my daughter just installed google chrome instead of going through internet explorer seems to of done it ..so fook off internet explorer Just installed Chrome on my laptop. Working fine now too. Seems odd as my other computer doesn't have chrome and works fine. same as mine walsie ---my other lap top dont get used much these day but i tried it tonight just to see ----the old uns held together with gaffa tape it sort of fell off the car roof when i drove off and forgot it was there Can someone tell Albert to install chrome? 15. Starting to think IanB doesn't like me lol.
  16. Nice one are you gonna try again?
  17. I was a security guard working nights in offices and on building sites. That could get seriously boring. You take something from every experience and from this I took the ability to make a bed out of office chairs and get a good nights sleep.
  18. I miss the quote button you just don't know what you've got until you lose it lol.
  19. Ideation thanks that's exactly what I mean. Im going to get hold of a catty some time soon and give it a go. Youcanthide bang nice shot. Wish someone would fix my fecking quote button.
  20. Still having my quote button problem
  21. I was thinking head neck shots on the rabbits that were hopping between holes I wouldn't attempt a shot on a rabbit thats running.
  22. youcanthide bang I haven't used catapults for a while but the catapult and bandset I used shot an 11mm lead ball at about 19ftlb so I would think it would be powerful enough. Didn't do much hunting with it but the pheasant in my avatar was taken down with a chest shot at 16yds.
  23. I got every rabbit out of the warren apart from one kill that I couldn't dig to so its not a big deal I was just curious if anyone ever used a catapult to knock over hole hoppers. I will try it some time. Smithie I do use purse nets just not on this occasion as I would have lost a day cutting down brambles.
  24. Yeah its not a big problem I still emptied the warren apart from a kill I just wondered if Id shot the couple of hole hoppers I could have got it done a bit faster and it might be fun to. I use purse nets but dogs aren't allowed on most the land I ferret either due to the livestock. I would like to try shooting over ferrets one day.
  25. A shotgun would be out of the question on all the land I ferret at the moment. Anyway im thinking more about the rabbits that pop up and slowly hop from hole to hole than the ones running at full speed.
