  1. Rez its a scorpion .177 ss Ill see if that works thanks. No just tried it a .22 would stay in there but a .177 just drops out on mine good idea though.
  2. Probably a stupid question but how do you carry your pellets? I don't like loose pellets in my pocket but I need something I can grab a second shot from fast.
  3. I have to walk a couple of miles to a wood that's covered in it. I have garlic mustard in my garden though been using it a couple of years.
  4. 2 ferrets Ive got here that I hope to breed from in a few years, jill is albino so were her parents and the hob is polecat coloured his mother was polecat and his father was a silver. I know the colour doesn't realy matter with working ferrets but I am looking forward to seeing how they come out.
  5. You can definitely still get different colours out of an albino to albino breeding because they can still be carrying poley colour genes. For example cross a poley with an albino and possibly get an albino kit in the litter it will still carry the genes of both parents.
  6. I don't like to shape all the way out to the middle so I have plenty of bagging without having loads of meshes near the rings where they serve no purpose. 10 12 14 16 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 18 16 14 12 10
  7. Leeview why don't you increase every row?
  8. I go 10 12 14 16 18 4ft works well for me.
  9. That looks good will definitely be trying it. Ive only started using wild garlic this spring had wild garlic chicken wild garlic bread and used it in pasta sauce so far. How long does that keep?
  10. Onthehunt are you certain he isn't killing and moving on fast? Seems odd for a ferret especialy a hob to never kill.
  11. Ive fed corvids loads of times. Only problem I had was after chucking in a rook I had shot ten minutes earlier the ferrets got infested with ticks so now I freeze tem for a few days.
  12. Same as tjones I don't use a dog (I would like to but not possible for a couple of reasons). I do occasionaly walk around after dark with a torch so I can see where the rabbits run to.
  13. Look like average poleys to me. Usualy priced from £0-£10. That entire site looks like a scam I doubt they actualy have any animals to sell.
  14. I also use agoutis rings. Im not saying sliders are no good each to their own, but if it aint broke don't fix it. If youre not satisfied with the speed rings drop you could try running both cords through the same side of the ring but Ive never felt the need.
  15. When did I knock sliders? If youre dropping the ring and slider the slider probably will drop faster but in the field the net purses with the force of the rabbit hitting the net so I cant see it making a noticeable difference.
  16. Rings work so well on purse nets that I don't see the need to try sliders. I make my poke nets with rings as well.
  17. Never thought of bolting squirrels with ferrets. Any of you ever lost a ferret in a tree?
  18. Its not difficult breeding but only realy worth doing if you've got 2 brilliant workers as the parents. The big shock comes when you see how much food the kits get through. Not always easy getting homes for all of the kits either.
  19. I feed anything I shoot with an air rifle to mine not had any problems.
  20. Ive had it bad for years tried all the allergy pills loratadine etc also tried eating a spoonful of local honey a day and sticking Vaseline up my nose and none of it helped a great deal. Last summer I started using beconase nasal spray, I still get the itchy eyes occasionaly but the constant sneezing and burning sensation in my nose is gone. Realy good stuff you should all try it.
  21. My 2 hobs are always very laid back unless theres a jill in with them. That's a brilliant picture lol.
  22. Wish I could get to Surrey I could use another hob.
  23. You don't need to breed your jills to take them out of season. Best options are either take them to a vet and get them jabbed or take them to be serviced by a vasectomised hob. Ive never worked jills in season probably not a good idea.
  24. Well done Im sure theyl be happy enough as pets, I found a sandy hob couple of seasons ago which some idiot had broken all 4 canine teeth off, called a rescue and found him a pet home.
