I never seal the meat I just chuck it in. It is usualy white but I have had rabbit that is a bit pinky, I wondered if it was something the rabbits had been eating? these rabbits came out of an orchard so I wonder if its got something to do with tree bark from the apple trees or less likely the apples themselves. I recently found out that when rabbits eat tree bark it can make their piss bright red so I suppose the bark could make the flesh pink.

Nice bag of rabbits and good pics I need to start taking a camera.This season flew by for me. They are starting to breed but I want to cram a few sessions in yet, anyway just got given another freezer so that needs filling lol.

Hobs have a much stronger smell when in season. Or when it's afraid lol very afraid ; ) You never had a ferret come across something it didnt fancy its chances with or fought and lost against something below ground, when their tails bottle brush up, have a sniff, usually cos their afraid.. Or in defense, followed by a sharp exit.. If you can notice your hob is in season by the smell of the hutch, I think you need to clean them out more. yes Ive smelt scared ferret before usualy when introducing a new ferret. My hutches are kept clean (probably alot cleaner than most on here) I n

I understand whiffy! Damn there strong smelling atm, yeah litter brothers mate they've always been rough, but there starting grtting worst ill separate them until they are outta season thanks guys Have you considered getting them castrated? They could live together year round then.

I just use the `cheapo red topped water bottles. I also put in a big bowel of water when it gets realy hot. The trouble I have with water bowls is one of my jills gets in the bowl and starts digging soaking everything.

yeah Im dreading the end.Im haveing a lovely season.Loveing it. I know it only seems like 5 minutes ago I was praying for September now the end is in sight. On the bright side they want year round rabbit control on some of my land so Ill do a bit of shooting with the air rifle and maybe see if I can get the hang of snaring and fenn traps.

Had a doe with 5 marble sized babys inside her today. Im not worried though theres usualy baby rabbits above ground by now in my area. Ill push on regardless of young this season.

I had a black rabbit with a white nose a couple of weeks back. Apart from that one and a few solid black rabbits Ive not had any unusual colours.

The money them things cost that must have been heartbraking to lose. Wouldn't bet on it working again but good luck.

Ive never tried it but I hear the ferret can get torn up pretty bad. Having said that rabbits can dish out some punishment to. If you've actualy done ratting with ferrets and its working for you Id carry on.

Im sure I saw muzzles for sale somewhere so I don't think theyre illegal although they should be. Ive never seen anyone use a muzzle but I did find a hob with his teeth snapped off a couple of years back. Ive never seen the logic in muzzles and teeth snapping, surely a ferret needs his teeth to bolt stubborn rabbits.

Good video. I liked the rabbit looking into the camera lol, And the slow mo rabbit bolting into the net was good. Id like to film some of my ferreting next season. I keep thinking about some kind of small camera that I could fit to a ferrets collar.

I suppose the bottom line is breed for prey drive/working ability and stamina from strong healthy stock before colour size or anything else.
