    I cant see that trap working anyway, doesn't look heavy enough to me. I think 2 people out of 20 have walked so far I wonder how many will make it to the end.

    I used to poach all the time when I had no permission. Might be best to steer clear of the farmer that threatened to shoot you though if you do decide to poach lol.

    What I don't get is butchers paid a pound for them when they were selling them for £3, now I hear they want somewhere between £6-£8 and they still only want to pay £1-£1.50 for them. Tight feckers in my area by the sound of it.

    Ban halal and kosher slaughter if anyone doesn't like it bye bye. If I went to live in a muslim country and started demanding they change their laws to suit my ideology what would they do to me?

    Haha knowing my luck I'd get my stuff taken off me, think my problem is they are Dairy Farmers around here and sheep so rabbits not affecting anything. Also do I need insurance?? what would I need insurance for apart from breaking my ankle falling over brambles I'm just going to have to pluck courage and go knocking on doors I've got a few months before next season to do it. I just ferret to nets and Ive never had insurance, don't see the need. If youre shooting over ferrets it would be worth having insurance.     I don't think breaking a rabbits neck compares to halal slaughter.

    Well I eat a lot of rabbit out of my catch the odd pheasant used to eat pigeon until I went off off of it and I eat trout and crayfish from my local river. So yes I do buy some meat and fish from the supermarket. The historical argument doesn't hold water as far as Im concerned because we move on and find better ways.

    Pisses me off the way we bend our rules for other religions in this country. Halal and kosher slaughter is bad enough as it is imo without smacking the animals around before hand. Id love to see Halal and Kosher banned in the UK but it never will be because most of the country is so pc they wouldn't say shit if they had a mouth full of it.

    Wouldn't advise it but I got my best permission by getting caught poaching it. Another by getting caught trespassing.

    Just keep asking. once you get one permission and you do a good job you will probably get neighbouring farms etc.

    Ive come to the conclusion you just need to crack on regardless. In my area the cover didn't realy die off until December and often there are young rabbits about in mid January. I start September on open ground like orchards and I usualy pack in about now. But in future Im pushing on right into February.
