  1. Got to agree with vanman Id batter the prick just don't get caught. Hope you get her back.
  2. I have a small orchard to do that's got some nice openish warrens on. The grass might be a bit long which can make finding all the holes tricky but ill probably put nets down where I can and then surround it with a longnet.
  3. Don't know about earthworms but I think slugs carry lungworm.
  4. I usualy go until about February but might have to work a bit later this season as ive got a lot to do.
  5. Same as you lads Id rather wait until September but I get the feeling its a get started or lose the land situation. On the bright side there should be a lot of lovely tender eaters about.
  6. Im under a bit of pressure to get started this weekend. Id rather wait until September but not an option unfortunately. Cover isn't a big problem on this particular site so Im not to worried about that. Only other problem is theres going to be a few young about. Anyone got any experience on starting this early?
  7. Got mine off of Moxy on here a couple of years ago top quality.
  8. Ive got 2 albino jills and cant tell the difference unless Im holding them side by side. If I add another to the team Ill probably get a sandy or silver.
  9. Numbers looking pretty good round my way, roll on September.
  10. Onthehunt by work obviously I mean the extra cleaning and handling you need to do. Whatever you say a litter of ferrets get through a hell of a lot of food so I have no problem at all paying £10 for a kit. I bred 2 litters over 20 years ago and let the kits go for £5 each. Im thinking about breeding another litter maybe next season or the one after and what I don't keep Ill sell to good homes for £10 or if any mates need a couple they can have them for free.
  11. £10 in my area. Reasonable considering the amount of food they get through when theyre kits not to mention the work involved in raising a litter.
  12. Archie Theres an ad in the back of countrymans weekly for Russian blues wtf are they? Im betting theyre a silver renamed to push the price up.
  13. Id just ignore all the eu crap. Im not saying no one has one but most are just dark polecat coloured ferrets.
  14. Noting wrong with a bit of poaching. If its to dodgy in the day then maybe a moonlit night?
  15. I cant wait to get going this season. I got a huge bit of perm late last season so I didn't realy scratch the surface.
  16. supposed to go to 32 degrees tomorrow. Ive got frozen bottles in with mine.
  17. They wont need to be seperated until they come into season.
  18. Where from the one? Do you buy online?
  19. My local butcher is next to useless for this sort of thing so Im looking online. Found some on nurturingbynature.co.uk theyre £10 for a 10 kilo box which is a lot less than I pay for chicken wings even once you've added a delivery charge.
  20. they work out much cheaper than wings by the sound of it. Ill have to try to track some down cheers heritage.
  21. Heritage where do you buy chicken necks?
  22. I buy chicken wings when I have nothing else. Ive got no rabbits at all at the mo so Im feeding wood pigeon and the odd few chicken wings. They wont eat nearly as much once theyre full grown so you should then find it easier to shoot enough to keep them fed.
  23. Its a shame the chicks are so crap nutritionaly because theyre dirt cheap and all ferrets seem to love them. As said above whole animals like rabbit pigeon corvid squirrel are always going to be the best.
  24. If youre after a pair of ferrets 2 jills is probably the best option. As you know youl have to get them bought out of season probably twice a year. The other option that might be worth considering is 2 castrated hobs. Of course this will be more expensive in the short term.
  25. I was under the impression we were talking about kits at about 8 weeks that had left their mother rather than kits at weaning stage. Yes my kits at 8 weeks or so ate small bones like the tips of chicken wings.
