  1. I know exactly what you are saying mate and i am searching myself. Nothing like setting nets in the snow, to the point where you can't feel your hands and can't actually pick the nets up or set them.
  2. cheers rake aboot ive been talking to jay and johnyboy for a while now and ort whos a friend of theres goes lamping with me so weve all got to know each other but never meet and i herd they were the ateam so i gave them a call cos i needed a hand to do some new permisson as me and the wife only started ferreting last season and only have 30nets the mound took 1 hundred nets on its own any way it gave me a chance to put faces to names and ive got to say they are realy great lads and have some great dogs that do there job realy well mind you me and johnyboy have got to pull our fingers out cos j
  3. as in course fishing or game fishing? quite a turnaround if she was a vegan and then went on to game fishing! To be honest I think it's a phase that a lot of women go through, I know a few people (all female!) that started college and then all of a sudden they were veggies, for no real reason.............unsurprisingly all bar one now eat meat! To be very honest mate, she was an intelligent and lovely woman. She was about 30. Her biggest priority was 'looking after the planet etc' and being morally happy with herself. She had been a veggie/vegan for a long long time. The thing is s
  4. Dated and lived with a girl for a couple of years that when i met her was proper anti-hunting, and a vegan. But to be fair she was very level headed and coukd accept that me hunting and fishing had less environmental impact than me going down the shops and buying meet, so she was kind of ok about it all, ended up getting me to teach her how to fish.
  5. how does turnin the lamp off make a dog panic shut the f**k up you prick f*****g hell, were you bullied as a child? Calm down.
  6. Cheers mate, i'm not sure what the exact make up is. You'd have to ask malc1. All i know is it's a jack russel 'type' terrier, although there was some chat that it might have some westie in it (not sure how serious?). But whatever she is, she's a little cracker, marks very well, bushes well, is very obediant and well mannered for a terrier and is quick as fook off the mark on the bolters in the nets, a real godsend, when doing thick hedges, with hard to reach holes!
  7. Cheers mate, you are a gentleman. Still not worked out quite why my 21.5 " whippet wanted to shag your 27" male lurcher, over the three smaller bitches who were there? That dog has issues!
  8. Well done lads! I love that photo of you mate, stood with your hands in your pockets intently watching the nets
  9. Well, today being Sunday, it was time for the traditional weekly attack on the bunnies, by johnnyboy and I. This week however we decided to do a bit of cross border raiding! And what fun it was! Got a text a couple of days ago from Old Real Tree on here, passing on an invite from malc1 to come up his way for a days ferreting, although he was not sure if we would be up for driving for an hour or so 'just' to go at a few rabbits. You can tell he hadn't met us yet Unfortunatly at the last moment Old Real Tree, got called into work, as you can imagine, he was fuming! Anyway, got up ea

  11. Cheers guys, was a nice walk. The One - the rabbit is dead in the net mate, and i had been ragging it about for the kit, the head was through the mesh when it bolted, and the rest i ended up pulling through when i was shaking it about. It wasn't much bigger than most of the adult bucks here, but what i meant was that it was full grown, from last season, rather than one of this seasons young uns grown on.
  12. I agree that pictures sad, even if they had eaten a person or two ,they would have only been american anyway. Exactly mate, there are only 1400 Bengal Tigers left in the wild. . . . . . . . . and 312,467,000 Americans.
  13. Only in America! To be fair, i understand what folk are saying about the threat to peoples lives. But i think in the u.k we would have at least tried to call out the experts from the local zoos to try and tranq a few of them, rather than the local sheriff breaking out the guns and killing them all. I mean 18 Bengal Tigers . . . . that is a REAL waste.
  14. My missus is over from Germany (she is studying out there) and we took the dog for a walk just before it got dark. She told me that she fancied taking a ferret and seeing if we could find anything to bolt. Decided to take the young hob chunk. Had a wander through some horse paddocks, and got a mark right in the hedge in a set that i have never seen before, stuck three nets on, and the hob shot down, i was one side and my misses the other, the dog was with me, after a bit of rumbling the rabbit evacuated at speed out of a hole that had been missed on my missus side of the hedge. Tut tut
  15. Alright mate, i got them from my local camping shop, they were a a few pence each. Brilliant pegs! The hook makes them so much easier to pack away.
  16. It's a pain when you have a handful of the same coloured ferrets in a box and you send the lad for one, and it's "the poley","which poley" etc etc, much easier if everyone knows their names.
  17. Is this 27 rabbits with your dog that yaps like a fecker? 34 runs with the dog yapping it's head off is bound to get the farmer out of bed.
  18. Alright lads! Sounds like we will be well equiped! ORT - looking forward to it mate! You bringing the midget dog?
  19. Sound mate, he's a little b*****d, but he's handy. Realised today though, that i think the last bang has kind of f****d him a bit, seems to be a bit weak on the one leg, where he hit the wrist, so he has lost pace on the longer runs, still a lot faster than me around the nets though. You want me tr bring some ferrets? Your wife sounds handy, if she can lay nets i'll take her back over the border quick sharp! I hear ort has become a proper p***y and bought himself a van? Carboot buddy? Got to be a story there?
  20. Well done as ever mate, cracking dogs, a credit to you!
  21. Great as always anubis. Two questions - What is the breeding of those dogs? And where are those collars from?
  22. Pegs And a nylon net from longnetter which i find good quality and catch well.
  23. Great names mate, i like Tank, sounds like he would get on with Bear and Chunk
  24. Did a bit of rough shooting yesterday morn, a bit of duck flighting yesterday eve and a bit of ferreting this eve, so i was thinking a pie with one of each? And then maybe crispy shredded duck?
  25. Malt - i think you hit the nail on the head mate, everytime we go rabbiting there, i have to remind myself that these days we have to leave their herds and daughters a lone. Malc - we're looking forward to seeing you as well mate, i'm sure the day will be a laugh mate, and the bunnies are a good bonus on top. IS it ok for me to bring the cripple dog? You might be right about there being less rabbits in Wales, the numbers are definatly thin on the ground, well, apart from in my freezer!
