  4. Nice videos Tomo. That second vid in the first post, is EXACTLY what i was talking about with regard to the lurcher hovering behind the hole, ready for the bolter.
  5. Yes mate, you are right, this is THL, whatever you post, someone will tell you how you did it wrong
  6. As said above mate, it wasn't a dig and i enjoyed the video. And yes the world would be a bit dull if everyone had the perfect dog. Mine certainly isn't perfect! At the end of the day, don't know who you are, and how much ferreting experiance you have, so it seemed sensible to offer some kind of constructive advice, rather than simply writing 'nice video mate'. The thing about the dogs staring down the hole, well, i've seen a lot of rabbits shoved back down by an over eager dog, and it can be a pain in the ass. It's a reletivly simple thing to correct, and once they get the hang of hovering ov
  7. Calm down sunshine. If everyone just said 'nice vid', 'nice dog' etc etc, it's be a pretty dull place. Now i don't want to get into an argument with you on someone elses thread, but yapping DOES make a difference to running and catching game daytime. And the advice about calling the dogs back from the mouth of the holes IS a useful tip, that will ultimatly make a ferreting trip more successful. It's just advice.
  8. A lot of folk have jacked the lurcher section in, since it got linked with face book and flooded with fecking plebs. And those that are still here don't post much at all. The worst thing, is that we have lost most of the folk with a sense of humour and a bit of knowledge.
  9. Enjoyable video But i do agree with some of the comments, and they are not necessarily just trying to start an argument or slag you off, but maybe offering advice! Which, you will always get when you stick stuff up on a public forum. With regard to the young lurcher yapping, giving her lots of the same probably won't make her stop doing it, and it does make a difference to catching rabbits. You try running 100/200 meters and then try doing the same 100/200 meters while yelling your head off, and look at the difference in times. It's a lot harder to run while using your lungs for shout
  10. Well done to both of them mate, must make you a proud Dad!
  11. Cheers steve and tote ORT - Don't wory mate, they will be all the rage soon, you'll see.

  14. Cheers mate. Team Wales. . . . coming to a hedgerow near you
  15. As some of you may remember, a couple of weeks ago, Johnnyboy68 and myself carried out a bit of cross border raiding, and payed a visit to Malc1 and his lovely wife, for the first time, for a spot of bunny bashing. A great day was had by all, and a good bag achieved. Well, today it was time for round to at the English Bunnies! As the days are drawing in and it's a fair drive for us Welsh, the plan was to leave earlier than last time, so 4.45 am came and my alarm went off, and miracle of miracles, i managed to drag myself out of bed, Got my stuff in the car, that i had sorted last night
  16. You have some cracking dogs there mate And they look well suited to the terrain. Where about in wales were you hunting there? atb.
  17. I'd say silver mate. My silver jill is basiclly a white / sandy colour with a silver ish tail and some silver hairs a long her back.
  18. Cheers all! Country Plinker - He's a whippet
  19. Have you got a thing for him?
  20. I suppose i do think that way also BC. I have been thinking of late it is hardly worth me having the two running dogs, as there is not enough rabbits here at the mo. I could go further afield onto land i know there will be a lot more, but that would be in my eyes stealing from someone who has worked hard to get the land and rabbits he has. So instead i buckle down and try to do the best for my dogs with what i have here and invites onto good land. Don't get me wrong i have strayed over boundary lines many a time, but that is different to deliberately setting off to take from someone else. It
  21. NOT true at all. If any dog was easy to train, then we would all have models of canine obediance. Some dogs, like some people, are thick, headstrong, flighty etc etc etc.
