  3. I'm glad i started this. It's given me a right good chuckle
  4. So whats the total taken off the dales by you lot this season then mate, must be a pretty good score so far?
  5. Blackstaff. I was down your way early to mid summer and so a stupid amount of rabbit, and not kits, but grown adults, they were everywhere. I re-visited the same spot at the end of the summer and saw very very few in comparisson. . . . Disease?
  6. I've never really found that cutting the same day has a huge impact as long as the ferrets are up to their job. We do plenty of bashing our way into sets, and then ferret then straight after, same as running rabbits to ground with the dogs and the immediatly ferreting. Seems to work fine. I've never understood the folk who net up a big set and then sit about and 'let it settle' for like 20mins. f**k that Jamie mate - usually always free to come down, with the stinkers, mutt, nets etc. Just we've had this Sunday arranged for a good couple of weeks. Planning to smash an equestrian centre. S
  7. I wish there was someone who would take bunnys or birds of my hands for a half decent price.
  8. Pretty much, take it out with the lamp, walk up a squatter, and let it see the rabbit in the lamp and it run, maybe run the rabbit, maybe not, let it watch other dogs run rabbits etc. Soon enough it gets to know that where the lamp is pointing there is probably something worth looking at.
  9. If it wasn't this sunday mate, i would make the trip down! But we are heading the other way, up to Shropshire this Sunday! Shame.
  10. Had a quick look out in the pissing rain earlier, as it was getting dark, just to check out some new fields where they have recently planted the winter wheat. According to the farmer, there have been a few bunnys spotted a long the one hedge line and he wants them gone. Thought it was worth a quick look, just to see if it's worth a morning or a day on it, and to show my face quickly as i was only told today. Thought it would be rude not to take a ferret a long, so loaded up the dog and a jill, and went for a wander. There was plenty of activity about, and the cover has started to die b
  11. Light colored ferrets are best, and no cover. Places like public parks are good for it!
  12. Are you really that stupid you have missed the point entirely? I would hazard a guess at YES! why the is that then I I'll humour you . . . It wou ld be because your post bears very little relevance to the original point of the thread. Yes, cats kill birds, and dogs kill cats. But anyone who goes out to intentionaly set their dogs on cats is scum. Same as if some one intentionaly set their cat amongst your pigeons would also be scum. Make sense now?

  18. To be fair. . . you give some shitty advice
  19. Agree with all that has been said, i know that the papers blatently sensationalise this kind of stuff, but it IS based on the actions of what now seems like a growing minority, and it's stuff like this that gives all those who hunt with dogs a bad name, and makes the chance of any kind of reversal on the ban very slim. For the avergage joe, it makes us look like proper scum.
  20. thats what i said mate, but thats what she was up in court for yesta, poaching! Went out ferreting and killed a rabbit done her for animal cruelity! she got 10year ban on animals, £200 fine and 8 month referal order. 2 words; APPEAL + CLIVE REES That's 3 words. . . . But aye, there is no way in hell they could support that, a ten year ban on keeping animals for killing WILD vermin? No chance you can link poaching to animal cruelty.
  21. and this - http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/crime/9337437.Police_arrest_teenagers_after_farmer_kicked_in_head_during_attack/
  22. . . . . so called dog men do stuff like this. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/9333424.Police_probe__barbaric__crime_of_cat_coursing_in_Darlington/?ref=mr We all moan about the antis, the rspca, lacs etc, but to be fair it's idiots with dogs that have done the most damage to our sport.
  23. Can some one put a link up please? And does it have anything to do with running dogs?
