  1. More than likely a young mink who wondered into town. They often seem both clueless, and fearless. One somehow got into our local newspaper office a couple of years ago, and made the front page. They got in the OSPCA to remove him. FFS!

  3. A yea, TheWildNorth! He has a great YouTube channel. Wonder can it be got on the Android box?
  4. How many people on here knew him, or thought they knew him, before he conned the very people, who went out of their way to help him?
  5. I know exactly where your coming from Tiercel. Thing is, it's not something that goes on much here, so I don't see it as a big deal. If every second post on here were catch photo's, with nothing behind them, then yea, it would p*ss me off. I mean, there ain't much on this forum these days, and i can see why members are reluctant to contribute. (I know I am!) Sure photo's alone, dont add a whole lot to the forum, but better than logging in to see absolutely nothing, which is often the case.
  6. Fair deuce to you Tiercel, for never putting up pictures of vermin caught in traps, on these forums. I have, so I'm the last person to judge. Maybe we should ban photo's from the forum altogether. Well those of trapped animals anyway. That would sort it! I agree, there really is no need for pictures. But they do add to the forum, so why not.
  7. Is there a need to show any catch's, dead or alive, in cages, traps, or snares? Think it's safe to say, we've all done it. No big deal, showing vermin in footholds as far as I'm concerned.
  8. Usually when things begin to slow up, and it's no longer worth the effort.
  9. What about some fava beans!
  10. With reguards mink trapping, you said the traps are set 3-4 meters from the river. You'd be lucky to catch mink that far from the river bank. As Phil said "location is the key" and that is so true. Set your trap close to the water, for that is where the mink will travel. Well for the most part. Pick a location with some feature. Like where a drain enters the river, overhanging root system, or rock pile. These features slow a mink down. He'll sus out these places. Place your trap on a nice flat surface, half way down the bank, or on the bottom if it suits. Keep it tight to the bank, an
  11. Spotted this, and thought it might be beneficial to someone on here. Nice price on 110's! http://www.bushwear.co.uk/magnumtrap-magnum-110-trap-312745.html
  12. Well anyone invest in any, since they've come on the market? I know JD has good things to say about this trap. https://www.fourteenacre.co.uk/shop/procull-squirrel-trap/ Anyone else tried them out, and if so, what's yer opinions, pro's/con's etc?
  13. Just shows the damage rats can do to wildlife. Especially if their about in high numbers. They distroy a lot of nests too, especially those of ground nesting birds.
  14. Yea that would be the most likely culprit. They certainly like to stash their food.
  15. Could do with more info. Where's the entry hole, and how big?
  16. Looks like you've got the hang of it!
  17. Here's something that's wrecked my head in the past and this has reminded me of it once again. How is it deemed legal and humane to trap stoats in New zealand, with a Victor rat trap, yet they believe (with all their rigorous testing) a Fenn MK1V does not have sufficient killing power to kill a stoat humanely?
  18. Just one of the video's from JD's YouTube channel. Lots of other great footage on there, so take a look.
  19. I think I've just subscribed lol JD ,I really hope this video goes well for you, and that you get support from the members on here. We're seeing less and less good quality video's produced these days, with piracy etc. So fair deuce to you for putting in the work, and vision for such a unique video, showing among other things, a side of trapping that most of us never get to see.
  20. This might give you all a clearer picture of what ACTUALLY happened! Might even make the lynch mob back off a little. Doubt it though Firsthand account from a witness standing there. From Facebook: Deidre Lykins with David Lykins. Yesterday at 7:11am · My family and I decided to go to the zoo yesterday after visiting my neice at Cincinnati Childrens hospital. For those of you that have already heard, there was a terrible accident there yesterday. And since every news media has covered this story, I don't feel bad telling our side. This was an accident! ! A terrible accid
  21. Hope to make it this year. Missed out the last couple of shows.
  22. Aer a discount for the hunting life members? Or even just the ones that don't p*ss ya off! Lol
  23. The Irish term for them Eddie , if you remember, at that size is "A Grazer". I remember an old friend who'd shoot them at half that size . He said they were beautiful, who's to argue.Years ago if you mentioned to someone you were going shooting rabbits they'd tell you to bring them back a couple of grazers. You don't hear it nowadays. Yep, them we're the days! An auld fella down the road from me, would often stop me, and ask had I snares out. If I said i had, he'd say "bring me back a few back legs". Fussy fukcer! Lol. Another auld boyo that worked in the local dump, (where I spent most
