  1. Another one for the merry-go-round. Six months does appear to be the age most folk get fed up with their pups. I hope the pup is the exception to the rule and finds a 'caring' home. Yours in sport Pernod
  2. If only i was closer mate, i would have snatched your hand off. Pernod
  3. Your got a 3mth pup to get rid of and your after a freeby a couple of posts above that youve got loads of work for. Aye fuc*ing right. Pernod never look down on someone unless you are helping them,,, your words not mine Aye mate, but that doesnt apply to peddlers. Pernod
  4. It says 200quid in the advert!!!!!
  5. Shouldn't have any "tooth scars" at 6 mths ffs. Shouldn't have any "tooth scars" at 6 mths ffs. its from another dog... Ok misinterpreted, no prob, as i said i called him off when i see him bolt after the fox Good bit of training there mate if you can call off a 6mth pup during a chase. Aye right. Pernod
  6. Im sorry mate but im afraid you havnt seen a cracking dog for sale. If its got poor recall and 'might' go for cattle and sheep, then where i'm from that type of dog is termed a pot licker. I'm not saying you wont be able to turn the dog around, but the negatives far outweigh the positives with this dog I wish you all the best if you take it on, but you would be better starting from scratch with a raw pup(more so since its going to be your first lurcher). Only my opinion of course. Yours in sport Pernod
  7. Mate if it is chasing sheep, why are you letting it off the lead amongst them. Come on give yourself a shake. Pernod
  8. Hi Heza, Please be careful who you pass the dog on to. There is some right chancers about. Yours in sport Pernod

  10. Mate its simple enough. Set up some targets at varying hunting distances and fire off some shots and you'll see where the shots impact. You should maybe have considered this before firing at live quarry. Pernod
  11. I see where youre coming from mate. I was only ever a 'pleasure' digger, so to me they were ideal to use the dogs in. Each to their own Pernod
  12. Maybe in your area mate. We've a few in my area that are quite extensive and were put down years ago by the local hunt. Although i've not done any digging for a couple of years, when i did, they were the ideal place to start a keen pup. Our local ones held regular. Some of them almost always held. Only my opinion of course. Yours in sport Pernod
  13. Hi mate, get down to your local library and try to get a copy of Running with the fox by David Macdonald. This guy done a lot of research on the red fox. I read it a good few years ago, and it was by far the best book i have read about foxes. Cheers Pernod
  14. That sounds like a perfect way to get it to refuse to touch a dummy. Have you ever had a dog??? Yours in sport Pernod
  15. Do you not think you'd maybe be better gettin a vet to prescribe something, rather than waiting a week or two, if the bitch is doing a fair bit of scratching. Pernod
  16. This was without doubt the worst year of only an excuse. In the past it had small snippets that were funny, now i'm afraid it is total pish Pernod
  17. Topics like this are better discussed between close friends in private. Just my personal opinion, but puting topics like this on an internet forum comes accross as a bit of an anti tactic. Again just my opinion. Yours in sport Pernod
  18. What do you think this is viewed more by diggers than the terrier section. Why don't you get the ball rolling. Pernod
  19. well i'm not a choc hater, but i think if i was looking for a working terrier(regardless of colour) i would ensure it was from working lines. Unlike the OP who ''would prefer it was from working lines''. FFS Yours in sport Pernod
  20. Hi mate, i'm far from an expert, but i would suggest a wider hole. Pernod
  21. Again just my opinion:- a fox beat out of cover/woods and coursed with terriers is sport. A fox dug from an earth, taken to a field, released, then coursed by a lurcher(even given a bit of law) is not a side of the sport i would ever have been involved in. Again this is only my opinion, if others see it as fine, then fair enough, each to their own. Yours in sport Pernod
  22. This is only my opinion, but a lurcher at a dig should be there for when/if the fox bolts. I don't see the need to use another dog to draw out a fox. Come on its not that hard to shoot it where it is or scruff it, a decent terrier would probably be entertaining the jaggy end if your a wee bit scared yourself. Pernod

    the ban

Hi mate, my personal opinion is that the restrictions that we now have in all fieldsports, not just pack hunting, is down to the the moronic/sadistic element that was/is involved in fieldsports (i do not class them as hunters). And when a total ban in all hunting/fieldsports is thrust upon us, again it will be the moronic/sadistic element within fieldsports that we will have to thank. Yours in sport Pernod
  24. Hi mate, OF PEDIGREE UNKNOWN thats a blast from the past, i read that from cover to cover when i was at school. I did a lot of ferreting for rats, years ago. Never netted any though just used a beddy/whippet to catch them. I'm not exagerating when i say it was about the best sport i have ever had.I would reccomend it to anyone. And yes it was a bit hard on the ferrets, but some of them got to relish the confict. Pernod
