Hi mate, My pup is 1 year old now, he has a breakfast of either shredded wheat, rice pudding or poridge. Every evening he has either sirloin steak, frying steak or 18% fat mince, all fed raw. With this he has a mixture of either pasta or vegetables. ocasionally he will have raw trout or sardines in place of his meat. I must add he only gets the steaks because i work in the meat industry and get all my meat for free. Cheers Pernod

Mate, disregard my last post. I see it was a rescue pup. Best of luck, whatever it is. Pernod

Well mate you must ask yourself, can you trust the breeder to be telling the truth, is he a mate?? Theres a lot of guys out there who will sell a pup as 'whatever you are asking for'. i personally wouldnt buy a pup without knowing the correct parentage ( i dont trust many people). A pup is a long commitment, you at least want to know your getting exactly what you want. Pernod

Some of these topics are a real eye opener. Some of the guys, when they first start posting come accross as ok. But further down the line when you read some of their posts, it becomes increasingly hard not to form the opinion 'PLONKER' Pernod

Hi mate, When you say 'meant to be', surely you saw the parents before purchasing the pup.????? Pernod

I rest my case. Hi mate, I dont quite understand this topic. Is this a working terrier or a show/breeding terrier. If you just want folk to comment on the pups looks, well, it looks ok. Whether it will work to any standard is anybodies guess. Whatever i wish you well with the pup. Pernod

What, you only ran the two on it, surely you could have slipped the other dog as well. Gies a fuc*in brek.. Pernod

were i come from most of them are that inbred i wouldnt be seen with them let alone wanting my kids to mix with the strange b*****ds,odd ones are ok, most have it bred into them to hate lurchers even though they no f**k all about them, all tax payers should all be able to walk on the land now that they just sit back getting paid a fortune for letting there land go to waste, just wait till there in bed with the wife or sister and poach. No mate, Most of them hate Lurchers because they have met owners like you. Pernod

Hi mate, is your merle dog not just a pup itself. The person wanting to breed from it must be a total plank. Good on you for refusing. Pernod

Only my opinion but, A true lurcher, worthy of the name, is a cross of some form of running dog, that uses a combination of speed and common sense to catch edible quarry. A dog you could rely on if times were ever that hard,( i know not often nowadays) could help feed the family. Again this is only my opinion on the 'definition of a lurcher' Yours in sport Pernod

You go for it mate, 10 E's and some re-runs of the inbetweeners. (get a life) Pernod

Hi mate, I'm afraid its humin nature (in some folk) to bum up and exagerate things. you get them in every walk of life not just The Hunting Life. I personally feel that (as Tomo is) if folk were a bit more critical of there own dogs as oposed to bumming up, possibly inferior animals, there would be a lot less mediocre(sp) lurchers doing the rounds. I also feel that someone who is a genuine dog man, and who has what you could describe as a world beater, would definately keep that information to him self. Only my personal opinion ofcourse. Hi mate, I think you have just discovered why the dog was passed on at 12 months. There are some good young dogs moved on for 'justifiable' reasons, but by reading some of the posts on here, it seems the owner discovers the fault, then offloads it to a naive purchaser. Just my observations. Yours in sport Pernod

Hi mate, if its 11 month old and he's gettin shot of it a couple of months before the season starts, i'd say it more than likely has, and didnt enjoy the experience. Yours in sport Pernod -
Hi mate, not being funny, but you will get more useful responses if you actually say what is required. horses for courses and all that. Cheers Pernod

Hi mate, for a start i would stop taking your pup out with the whippet. The whippet is already mature and should have been trained and socialised by now. The pup on the other hand is a 'blank canvass' and i think it could only learn bad traits off the whippet and nothing positive. I know it sounds harsh but leave the whippet at home. Probably not the positive response you want to hear, but theres no point ending up with 2 spoiled dogs. Yours in sport Pernod
