  1. Hi Bigdigger and ginge87, i'm not being funny but have you tried to get permission, or you just wanting someone to do all the hard work for you?? I know you both want 'to get started' but its not exactly rocket science is it. You get permission with some earths on it, you try the earths with your terriers, you eventually find an earth with a fox in it, you get a mark where the dog is, and the fox either bolts or you dig to the dog. Sometimes your better going it alone. Or if when you get some permission if you realy need someone to show you the ropes, then take them on your ground. you
  2. Mate have you tried contacting any hunts, there are a few in Scotland. I think there is one very near you the Renfrewshire??. Google them, get a contact No and fire away. Pernod
  3. Topper mate, Andrew has nothing i want. In fact i like to distance myself from the likes of him. Yours in sport Pernod
  4. What was that other thread 'have you ever proved anyone wrong' ha ha. Andrew you are infact making a tit of yourself, i think that Events co ordinator, sussed you right a few posts back. to come on here and big it up and blatantly lie, I'm afraid does come accross as anti tactics. If you want to prove me wrong, feel free to impart some more of your wealth of knowledge on me. Pernod.
  5. No, I haven't been in to field sports for a short time, dont talk as tho you know me, and as for my attitude, says the one that started his topic with "what a complete dick".....fail. Come on Andrew, you posted this in October this year ''I have done a bit of ferreting but I'm really getting in to my running dogs now. I am 24, honest and genuine and live in swadlincote, derbyshire - still looking for a pup of my own but when i do get one it would be nice to have a sort of mentor and bit of experience in the field before i get her. so if anyone that works there dogs along this way an
  6. and do what with it when he's caught it, he says only has an air gun use your brain, relocate it. Use your brain......dont post shit like this!!!!! Totally irrisponsible. Never mind the legallities. If you relocate them your just passing the problem onto somebody else to deal with. Foxes dont live on thin air. There will be a keeper somewhere nearby who doesnt want his pheasants killed. There will be a farmer somewhere nearby who doesnt want his sheep killed. There will be a kid somewhere who doesnt want to go up the garden one morning to find his pet rabbit scattered all over the p
  7. Hi, if shes retrieving a ball/dummy etc, then get her used to retrieving a rabbit skin dummy, then move her on to dead rabbits. Shes only young, shes most likely just excited with the live rabbit, i'm sure if shes retrieving objects then she should come good with the real thing. One last point mate, thats a couple of times youve talked about dropped rabbits, we all know it goes on and can at times bring on a young pup, but i dont think you need to broadcast the fact that your doing it. I hope your wee pup comes along well mate, i have a 15mth old pup myself and he is proving a wee bit di
  8. Im not 100% sure, but was that not the thought behind bull baiting as well ??? Pernod
  9. One of my favourite THL quotes......... I think quotes like that are just a piss take, in order to get their post count up. Surely they must realise how stupid they come accross. Pernod
  10. you are full of shit mate that plummers seen fukc all just like thee simple as thas a keyboard bullshitter an i know nowt lol Jesus mate - steady on there. Season of goodwill and all that eh!!!! why lie ??? if he aint no liar or no bullshitter let him speak for himself i dont beleive for one minute he got 5 foxs an if he proves me wrong i will gladly appologise but personally i think hes full of shit an i waint hold my breath as far as proving me wrong concerned i bet hes got some lovely stories an a bet his dogs dont go off his back feild mark this lad down another plummer terrier wa
  11. Hi mate, sounds like your wee dog had a good day. I dont keep terriers anymore, but we used to have some very easy days doing the artificials around my area. These were constructed years ago by the local hunt, and given the right weather they were almost guaranteed to hold foxes. All the best Pernod
  12. You seem to be a very helpful guy..... Pernod
  13. go for it mate, once the wee dogs done a bit, breed it with a greyhound, it'll make great wee lurchers. Just remember to advertise them as collie crosses. Pernod
  14. Hi mate, you should maybe look into train prices, i'm sure it wont be that expensive. I brought a pup up to scotland from Llandudno a few years ago, no problem. Pernod

    a wee joke

Took a girl home after clubbing last night. After a few drinks at mine, we went upstairs and while we were taking our clothes off a voice came from under the bed that said '' I hope thats not that fat one from last week''. The girl said ''what the fu*k was that?'' I said ''its that fuc*ing memory foam mattress'' Pernod
  16. Not being funny mate, but do you have the work for 3 adult lurchers. reading between the lines i would say that the dog must be a bit of a handful. Work and lots of it might sort it out. If you have the work for it then take it on, but if you dont you will only be continuing the cycle. This is not a dig, mate, i like many others would only want whats best for the dog in the long run. Yours in sport Pernod
  17. Hi mate, As mentioned before it makes a change to have an honest post. But i'm not realy suprised folk arn't banging your door down to get the dog. He had a previous owner before you, who rejected it, you got it then rejected it, you passed it on, and they rejected it, you now have it back and want shot of it. If you want to be entirely honest there will only be one outcome for the dog, either passed around or PTS. Pernod
  18. Hi mate, thats if he ever calms down, i have a collie cross, he's 15mths old, he has slept in a cage since he was a pup, and still does. He shreds everything we give him. He now has a piece of carpet in his cage, but he still chews it through the night. He doesnt chew anywhere else, just in the cage, it must be boredome. Pernod
  19. Hi mate, if i remember correctly Celtic off here was advertising for a ferret. Pernod
  20. Hi mate, Heres a picture of my collie/grey X working whippet. He's 24tts and 14mths old in the picture. He is definately the smartest but most headstrong dog i have ever encountered. Everything with him is a battle of wills, he is slowly learning that there can only be on one winner.(and it definately wont be him) Cheers Pernod
  21. Hi mate, do you consider 20K to be a low wage??? I know plenty of people who work for quite a bit less than that. Pernod
  22. Another hunting life classic. Pernod
  23. I wonder at times just how many foxes some of the members on here have actually run. Pernod

  25. Hi all, sometimes i get genuinely embarrassed by some of the questions on here. I know forums are a learning/sharing place, but FFS coats for working terriers. Pernod
