  1. Class Powerful stuff. A beautiful song. Check out Sinead O'connor's version too.
  2. How serious is kennel cough to a healthy dog really? I booked mine into a reputable local kennel. I was very impressed with the security and cleanliness. They said it was upto to the individual whether or not they had their dogs injected for kennel cough because there are so many strains of it around. They did however insist on the usual annual vaccinations being up to date.
  3. Kay They don't look in too bad condition, perhaps they are just wandering. I have seen swans living in quite dirty/over grown places and they have lived there for years bringing up their families. Perhaps they are quite tame and used to taking food from humans? I saw on our local news this week that two swans were rescued by the USPCA because some retard had shot them with crossbow bolts!
  4. Good luck for a full recovery. Hope she stays sound.
  5. Lovely birds - I like to watch them bathing as a flock in puddles, all flapping and squawking. Also swarming in formation at dusk in the navy and pink sky, before just suddenly disappearing into the tree they roost in, it really is quite spectacular and a pleasure to watch.
  6. Good luck with it............it looks sooooo innocent lying there.
  7. A plague of rabbits!!!! scary stuff. What did ye think of the narrators plummy BBC voice?
  8. Yes - if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear! Justice to victims of crime.
  9. Gelert passed away a few months ago aged 11, he had a suspected heart attack last october and never quite recovered from it. When he was in his prime he was a joy to see in full flight, five bar gates were jumped with ease, surprisingly agile for such a big dog, although not as quick as a smaller/lighter dog on the turn.Incredible stamina though, the pics were taken on a 15 mile wander around the black mountain in the western end of the brecon beacons. It was an absolute pleasure to share 11 years of my life with him. Bought a pup a couple of months ago which is a very similar cross (deerhoun

  11. Nice dog. I love the brindles. Good luck with it. Hope it and the terrier learn to live in harmony.
  12. Sounds like that is one lucky dog now. Well done for giving it a better life. I find the coat on my rough haired dog sheds heavily a few times every year, it really just comes out with very little pulling and a good brisk brush over the space of a week or so, the dog loves the extra brushing and hands-on attention . I think the rougher coat saves the skin a bit when whey are running through under growth and keeps the water from getting through to their skin. Good luck with her.
  13. What do you mean by it is chewing its crate? Is it a metal crate? Make it sleep in a crate at night - it won't damage anything or itself while it is in there. Feed it in the crate too. Is this the first dog you have ever owned? If you want to do your best for it think about joining a local dog training club where you can get lots of advice and get your pup socialised while it is still young. It sounds like you have your hands full there. Good luck.
  14. If this dog came from a family, perhaps it was just a pet and not given the right education or stimulus for the job. Let him watch another experienced dog at his work and hopefully he will soon learn and get a tste for it. Good luck.
  15. Good luck with your pup. No matter what certificates his parents did or did not have, PUT THE WORK IN TO YOUR DOG and enjoy the rewards. Keep us updated on your progress.
  16. On the command of 'hisssssss get it!' one of my terriers jumps up starts to scan the room for a spider to catch. I lift him up to reach ones that are too far up the wall for him to catch Good dog!
  17. Emeera - you seem to have some sort of ethics regarding unnecessary breeding of dogs/homing dogs, which is commendable. You say you are now going to breed your old terrier bitch? If she really is old, think carefully about whether it is the right thing to do and whether you will realistically get good homes for them. It is easy to end up with more dogs than you really need/have time to devote time to, threfore setting them on the unwanted/surplus to requirements treadmill.........be realistic.
  18. Emeera - the replies you got on here are only telling the truth. By the way, if the bitch is likely to lift a small dog, best to keep it muzzeld and on a lead. Your other post shows it and the saluk running free and unmuzzled. If it lifted my small dogs, it and you, would be in trouble........... If you really cannot keep it, best to have it speyed and found a new responsible home. Good luck.
  19. Question on the above post: Does anyone think it is important to be able to remove things (including food)from their dogs mouth? Me, myself, I like to be able to do this incase my dogs pick up things that may not be safe, for example out walking a dog can pick up sticks, golf balls, KFC bones thrown about by dirty bolloxes who wouldn't think to use a bin, dirty scraps of unkown origin and dead animals etc. I use a strong 'leave it!' command if he has not already picked it up, sometimes with a quick flick round the ass with the lead, if necessary, or 'thank you!' command as i remove it from t
  20. I had the front ones off my 8 year old terrier because they regularly got injured, meaning the dog was in pain and out of action for several weeks at a time. The dog was at the vet for a couple of hours and well recovered in 10 days......never looked back.....£ well spent.
  21. My dog has spots like that too, i think it comes from running through long wet grass at this time of year, if it gets out of hand and too itchy or weepy, i wash him in head and shouders shampoo, it really cools his skin and drys up the rash better than anything i have ever got from the vet. He also has a small umbilical hernia for all his life (he is 10 years old now). It is very small but your dogs one looks bigger, i that was my dog i would have an opinion from another vet, i wouldn't like to have to deal with an emergency strangulation etc, or indeed that catching on anything. He look
