  1. Hi all I just got my first digital camera. It is a Canon Sureshot A470, I am still learning to use it and trying to get to grips with Photobucket etc for resizing. I hope these come through ok! They were taken in my garden this morning. One is of a frosted web in ivy and the others are of a shrub with berries which is frequented by lots of small birds. Finger crossed these come through!
  2. I love the pic of your dog. He looks fit for a 10 year old. I have one very similar........his face used to be tan - but now it is mostly white. Still a feisty little one though!
  3. Spaying changes the hormone levels so it can be harder to keep a speyed bitch slim, same as it's harder for a woman with kids to stay slim. That isn't an excuse though! I'm just saying that it is more difficult. It can also change their coat. Someone I know who works his rescue springers found their coats went sort of rusty coloured and more fluffy, but since swimming them in the sea every day they look better, he reckons its to do with all the female hormones washed into the sea from the pill. Could be something in that. A surprisingly large percentage of spayed bitches suffer from i
  4. I don't understand how spaying can make a bitch fat. Surely correct feeding and exercise keeps it right. My speyed bitch is lean and fit as a fiddle.
  5. Not a dig at Blackknight, but how much would most people expect of a dog that has went through the experience of moving to a new handler and home? I would imagine the dog might need a while to settle into his new home and build some sort of bond with a complete stranger? I think if I had a strange dog for a week I would be more concerned with checking that it is stockbroken and able to respond to recall etc?
  6. Nice pics. There must be enough good ones on here to rival John Craven's Countryfile calendar!
  7. That sounds scary. You could try reinforcing his control on a longline in a park where there would be distractions but you still have hold of him should he decide to bolt.
  8. Good luck with the move. Hope it all works out well.
  9. How long have you had the dog?
  10. Is this for real or a wind up? Neopolitan what.......mastiff? What would that look like and what would it be useful for?
  11. Perfectly, thank you. The thread is about ACD and kelpies - FACT.
  12. That looks a good job. Did you make some sort of drain to facilitate hosing out etc?
  13. like i said just my opinion they are crap to look at wouldnt have one for free thats why i said each to there own and just my opinion thats why the post on the page to agree or disagree with coments or pics ankle biters "THEY ARE CRAP TO LOOK AT" well that one statment , tells the rest of us on this site all we need to know about you. 14. Are you anywhere near Luton or Borehamwood? I'm due to fly to Luton in the morning.
  15. And now for a quote I've heard - "Don't listen to old wives' tales".
  16. Smashing looking pups. How much are you looking for them? What size do you think they will be? Any pics of parents?
  17. Lovely pics. Iv'e never seen this type of wild bird around here before.
  18. When it happened to mine, I kept it in the house for a few days to keep it clean and dry while the skin in the nail area hardened up and dried out. The bitch kept it clean herself - you know what it's like, you can't stop them licking at it. Just had a wee check there, there is now a wee hard stumpy nail now, not much beyond the toe. I think mine damaged hers jumping out of the car which she jumps out of every day in life - just one of those things!
  19. I agree with this. We had a terrible fusty smell in the airing cupboard a few years ago....on investigation it was a wee dead mouse. It was hard to believe that such a stink could come from something so small! All the towels and bed clothes had to be thrown away. What a stink! To this day we keep a baited trap in there just incase.
  20. That is sickening! Hope you get them back and get the lowlifes that took them.
  21. Lovely dogs. The pup looks full of character!
