  1. These sort of people need to be behind bars, they care nothing for animals and even less for the laws that most decent people live by No, these sort of people need to have their hands smashed!
  2. Training class sounds like a good safe option, the opportunity to meet loads of dogs in a controlled environment. Best done while it is still young and able to learn. Otherwise keep it on a lead, a halti type lead if necessary, and reward with treats or strokes when it is calm when introduced to other dogs and people. An out of control dog running loose and leaping about in public is asking for trouble.
  3. Strong looking horse. What do you use him for?

    ??

Maybe it got clipped by a car? Good for you sorting it out anyway. Good to use it for the ferts.
  5. Interesting pics. Hope he feels better with that tooth gone. Was he sedated?
  6. Good luck with them, what size of tank are they in and what sort of filteration are you using? I find that if you don't change too much water too often and don't over feed them and don't over crowd them that they do better. Also a lump of tufa rock in a freshwater set up (the type usually used in marine tanks) helps to stabilize the ph leading to a better environment for them to thrive. I feed mine 3-4 times a week and change 30% of water about once every 4-6 weeks. I have 6 congo tetras, 3 goldfish and one ancistrus (for housekeeping duties) in a 4 foot tank with undergravel filtration.
  7. YES one band i have regretted NOT seeing.Sympathy for the devil would be my signiture tune if i knew how to do it.atb dell Yeah one creepy song......"Please allow me to introduce myself.....whooo whoo, whoo whoo!!" Danced in the mud at Slane in my wellies to that, brilliant!
  8. Anybody like the Rollin' Stones????
  9. Never mind giving a dog energy from custard creams, i'd be more concerned about them getting diarrhoea from custard creams!!!
  10. you are the first person i have ever heard say that they have seen an agresive boxer that must be the same boxer because it is not in theyre nature to be agresive i have one all he wants to do is play he gets attacked by little spoilt terriers all the time A loose boxer bounced all over me and my two leaded terriers last week looking to ?'play' ?. He ended up with one latched on to each of his slobbery chops. The bloke letting it run 100 yds away from him then put it on the lead. I hate dogs running out of control in public parks, it is irresponsible and asking for trouble, regardles
  11. Consider laser surgery. It is very liberating.
  12. Maybe your dog is sensitive to wheat in the dried food. Are you giving it any milk to drink? Milk used to run the guts right through mine - what a mess. Try him on raw.
  13. PROB BEST STICK TO YOURE DOGS THEN Prefer the Irish Draught type
  14. I'm generally not a fan of that kind of horse but that Lion King is well put together for his type. I'd have the clippers at his legs though

  19. Thanks for all the suggestions. How would you know if it was blight? The spuds are all ok so far. Just the stems and leaves are a bit ropey?
  20. Thanks for that. I'm lifting a load every day - nothing quite like soil to plate in less than an hour!
  21. Why would you call them out to let a pigeon out of a front room!!! ..........or shovel a stiff cat from behind a shed? They must have too much money and not a lot of sense in London? Can't wait to see if anyone complains about the slaughter of rats, squirrels and bed bugs live on tv before 9pm! What about Charlie the rat killer?
  22. The leaves and stems of my potato plants (maris pipers)went very yellow quickly. I have started lifting the spuds now and there is quite a reasonable crop, they taste great too. I was wondering is this just what happens or might it be due to the weather, we have had plenty of rain, or lack of nutrients etc? I thought if the leaves and stems were more thriving, the spuds would keep getting bigger but the stems are so wilted that i don't believe there was any point in keeping them going? This is my second year growing them, I also grew sharpes express spuds but i thought the skins tasted
  23. If that reply is aimed at my post above, read again. Demanding a dog to sit and wait teaches them to show respect, not thier teeth, when food is about. It is a simple method that can be used everyday to encourage a dog to develop manners that will stand it in good stead in life, especially if life involves coming into contact with children, as the original posters obviously does. I did not speak out against scruffing a dog, i said that it does not need to be violent to be effective..........my terriers often feel the grip and are no worse off for it.
  24. I feel it is important to be able to take a dog's food/toys etc away. My terriers sometimes skirmish between themselves over food but i would be horrified if they ever growled at me. I feel scruffing does not need to be violent but a sharp verbal at the dog when necessary soon puts them in their place. It might be a good idea to train your dog to sit and wait until the bowl is set down and then give it permission to eat. This would involve reinforcing obedience(sit and leave), but no harm in that. The dog should respect you and best to sort it while it is young. Good luck.
