  1. I was on a flight recently and I recognised the voice behind me.......I had a peep and there he was in the flesh....John Craven! Ok Ok, I recognised his voice...I admit I used to watching Countryfile but that was when it was on a Sunday morning and I was on the settee recovering from a Saturday night
  2. I must admit to being a bit of a humbug! I don't see the point of spending hard earned money on clutter that someone really neither needs or wants! I think the most important thing to spend is TIME - sharing it with friends and relatives - with something useful, like a box of biscuits or a bottle of drink tucked under my arm for them of course
  3. terrier man - try not to cry about someone stealing a PHOTO of your dog....unfortunately many members on here have had their ACTUAL dog stolen - try to keep it in perspective. Happy hunting!
  4. terrier man - take a chill and don't worry about it too much. Remember - it is not only antis who read the threads but it is probably monitored by the police as well, so regarding personal information and photos, watch what you post - if you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear.

If people would stop breeding dogs indiscriminately there would be less pressure on these animal welfare organisations! The shelters are constantly full of unwanted dogs of all types. Obviously they can't all be rehomed. Dogs today, like a lot of other things, are seen as fashionable and disposable. It makes me so mad! It also pisses me off that there are so many dogs on the for sale section of this site. I just don't get why people want to sell/swop dogs all the time rather than put time in to training them. Rant over.
  6. Good luck with him, he looks a handy wee dog and well done for giving him the chance of a better life. It is a shame that dogs are treated like that, imagine these people are probably bringing up kids as well, dear help the kids, eh? At 7 months he is still a pup and if all he has seen is the inside of a shed, being in a house must be full of such excitement and tempting things to chew. Buy him a crate to stay in to keep the peace while the bitch shows him who the boss is!
  7. Welcome to The Hunting Life - at least it is never boring! Look through all the forums like dog health, wildlife photography and the cooking section - there is some good stuff there.
  8. They are very handsome birds. What are they used for? Are they exhibition birds for breeding as a hobby or can they be used for eggs or meat? I saw fancy birds being shown at an agricultural show this year and couldn't believe how magnificent they were.

dont think u need a license 4 a working dog???.not sure though. Conor.k is from Belfast. In Northern Ireland ALL dogs are required to be licensed with the local council at the cost of £5 per year.
  10. I like the wee hairy dog. Is he a whippet/beddy? He looks a very handy size.
  11. The better modern electronic collars have individual microphones which are activated only by the vibrations from the individual dog that is wearing them. Kitting out 7 dogs might be quite a task though.
  12. I tried one of these..............waste of money and just caused another noise that the dogs enjoyed joining in with.
  13. Nice pics. I feed the birds in my garden and usually get a good variety visiting but the past few days in the storms and wild rain there does not soom to be too many of them about. I love to see all the varieties and as i live in a very built up area it never ceases to amaze me that they are all bold enough to drop in for food. My favourites are the robins, we had a nest of them in a bird house one year - very entertaining to watch!
  14. It would be interesting to see what the local council environmental health or health and safety dept make of the situation, rather than Subway head office! In the interests of health and safety it does not like a safe place for bringing up a baby, for example hot drinks, ovens, knives etc. I know most people have these things at home in their kitchen but surely behind the counter of a busy cafe is not the safest place for a young baby?
  15. It could be a sebaceous cyst. My old dog has had several over the years. They have not caused him any trouble.
  16. What do you want from your dog? Is he to be a pet or worker? It sounds as though he needs to be socialised and trained more - do you have friends with dogs who you could go walking with on the lead to get him used to other dogs? Practice your basic commands several times every day and reward him when he does well. Remember - when he is barking excitedly and you start yelling and roaring at him - in his view you are doing the same as him and therefore this is encouraging him to keep going. Good luck.
  17. URBAN MYTH this story was doing the rounds by word of mouth and text message in my area two months ago. There was even an article on the tv news about it being a tale.............same story, different supermarkets in different local towns. All the same, look after those kids.
  18. Is anyone familiar with the expression 'may as well pish in the wind'?, well unfortunately I think this is as much use as everyone's advice is going to be to this girl.
  19. The story goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on....................... Leanne it is time to get this dog a suitable home. Concentrate on your kids and get them a wee hamster pet or something that is not a danger to anyone, makes minimal mess and minimal time to care for.
  20. Bad luck that. Looks like a tidy repair job though........hope she is back in business soon.
  21. Good luck to young Lloyd but I think he is a bit out of his depth now compared to the others............the exception being the dicky duo from Dublin!
  22. Her name is Bonnie Greer and she doesn't do politics (those where her words) shes the trustee of the British museum and well it's obvious she was only put next to Nick to try and wind him up, and in my eyes had no right to be on it as she is not a politician or have anything to do with politics. JoeD From what little I saw, that was my impression... I believe she is American.
  23. I wouldn't worry too much as long as it is not bleeding now. If it passed such a big load of worms it was probably just the after effects of the worm dose and maybe the change of diet and excitment of going to a new home. Get it settled on a good quality diet and keep up the worming regime with Drontal.
  24. That is a very generous offer. Good luck with it in the future. It is always good to have a bit of ambition.
  25. I don't keep snakes as pets. The pics are just some of the wild snakes I've stumbled across the past couple years. Although, I stumbled across that rat snake in my kitchen! I don't see any attraction in keeping them as pets, indeed I wouldn't fancy them in the house at all!
