    Why is there so much crying about whippet racing at terrier and lurcher shows? Surely people with whippets can race them fairly at the Sporting Whippet Club, which is exclusively for whippets or else they should just race in the appropriate height categories at terrier and lurcher shows. Anyway. I never made it to the show at the weekend - looks like they were lucky with the weather!

    I have a very thick, wiry haired terrier whose coat I used to cut with scissors during the summer because she was scared of the clippers and the hair was not often loose enough to strip easily. It always grew back the same, thick wiry and waterproof for the winter. Recently I got hold of a Furminator grooming tool for a tenner and it does a great job on all the dogs, easily removing loads of excess hair and keeps them tidy in a few minutes every day.

    Do you know if whippets without kc papers are allowed to run at Dunsilly? Whippets do not have to be KC registered to race or show at the Sporting Whippet Club N.I. events at Dunsilly, but they do have to be pure bred whippets - not non peds! Is it always easy to tell the difference? Does anyone ever dispute what their dog is?

    Well, you might want to try if your dog is coursing towards a train line, main road or perhaps a small pet dog or cat.............it has been known to happen.

    Try Barjo website. Also train your dogs the STAY command while they are in the boot until they have their leads on and are told to come out of it..
