    At this age he will not need much walking at all......but he will need as much socialisation as you can expose him to like meeting other people and dogs in calmness, seeing traffic, hearing noises etc. plus a few minutes several times a day of training/interacting/learning maners with you to get his education off to a good start.

    Why not organise your run so that the dogs are separated with mesh or bars but can still see/sniff each other if they like. That way they still have the company of seeing/interacting with each other without the danger of being left alone together. I know I would be gutted if I came home one day and found one of mine dead or seriously injured.

    Each to their own, but why choose to breed from a bitch who displays symptoms of a hereditary disorder at 2 years old? I'd sooner breed from sound stock. There are plenty of Jack Russell types about......indeed the dog pounds are full of them.

    furminator........in working mans terms.......a hacksaw blade. Having previously tried the hacksaw blade method, I can say the furminator is easier and much more effective...........

    The furminators do a good job - a few minutes every day keep on top of things. But i'm sure there are cheaper types to buy than the 'real' furminators.

    Good luck to them. I went to school with army kids, well, they came and went at my school I went to, also I have worked with army wives over the years, the ones who seemed happiest were the outgoing ones who seemed to mix well both 'on camp' and with us 'locals', making the most of it while the partners were away. The moving around would be tough though.

    you say that mate but i think you will find that alot of kids start doing more with there dad, and start taking more intrest and understanding what you do , the computer games are the worst pile of shite ever and should be banned, my lad at night sometimes cant get too sleep because hes been on his game so much and his mind cant shut down. its nice to keep your children close to you and when your out of the way abit your kids do alot more with you. my opionion Whippet99 - What age is your child?

    Gathering stuff from the hedges is very resourceful and another good thing about trying to preserve a bit of greenery in your surroundings. Producing your own grubs sounds like it could near be a wee hobby in itself - good luck with it.
