  1. I love reading stuff like that. You mad b*****d! In a world of health and safety mad lawyers it's refreshing as f**k.
  2. WOAH!.......... did I read that right; you read a book and then went flying on a paraglider thing? No like, guide or instructor?
  3. Why slow berries? Ain't ya quick enough for the fast ones?
  4. Your ignorance and hippocracy is f***ing hilarious. You're so full of hatred and bile. Calling a white South African a Nazi because of the countries history, when you are a white Australian. Saying killing a Buff is akin to killing your own grandfather, but rabbits are okay. You are ignorant as f**k, have no desire to listen and learn like a gentleman, just wade in with your uneducated emotional bias and now claim to have the freedom to troll on threads like this and in the same breath want them banned. In the words of a fellow countryman of yours "Be a nice c**t" A.Greentree.
  5. I saw my first Otter at Loch Linnhe. The Witham where I grew up and still frequent is supposed to be full of them now.
  6. Both look spot on. Proper rugged country. I'll see what the crack is with the Hinds. Cheers
  7. Cheers. I expect to have to pay, so that's no problem, and it costs what it costs. Got a mate who would be keen for some fly fishing so I've got a joint trip in mind but it's not essential. I've never bought shooting before so it's a bit alien to me but I just need to get up on the hill with a rifle. Just putting the feelers out really. Cheers mate. I'd really appreciate that.
  8. I'm still after having a day stalking Reds in the highlands mate if you can point me in the right direction? Stags or Hinds, I'm more interested in it being in some really impressive country.
  9. My first spaniel and I’m glad I ended up with this lad rather than a springer. He’s two and a half now, loosing that puppy exuberance and settling into his work as a rough shooting and beating dog. Such a easy dog to own. I was after a springer originally but think I’ll be sticking with cockers now. I don’t know his breeding as he was passed around by an idiot and then finally gifted to me by a good mate.
  10. They weren't put up for your benefit fella. It's difficult to win an argument with a smart person, f***ing impossible with an idiot.
  11. Good luck policing that! A nation governed by its emotions.
  12. Yeah, just interested in Socks' view too though. Recently I've been looking more into the micro-nutrient composition of various raw food types to hopefully ensure the balance is right over time. I'd imagine bone, tripe, mixed offal and kelp would pretty comprehensively cover a dogs micro-nutrient needs? Not sure really on the necessity of veg.
  13. Let's be honest, the UK Gov' don't give a shite about rabbits these days. LOL The Aussie and Kiwi governments (DoC etc) do however use RHD strains to keep up the bio-warfare effort but the UK Gov' doesn't give a f**k. If these diseases, that find their way to our island, are indeed intentional acts then it's by the will and hand of farmers and businessmen, not bureaucrats.
  14. Out of interest, could you explain the differences that you see please, Socks?
  15. I really think that someone should set up an Independent Working Dog Vet Comparison site. It'd have to be well thought out so it makes valid and fair comparisons and presents the info clearly if enough of the fieldsports community are to use it so as to make it worthwhile but I think it'd really benefit us all. It'd force market competition and direct us, as customers, to the more sympathetic and understanding vets. Equally vets that want to tap into the fieldsports community as a market would be able to tailor their services to our requirements. At the very least 'we' want to know which
  16. Apparently there is a loophole in UK law that is allowing the importation of old weapons chambered in 'obsolete' calibres, which are then being loaded with hand loads.
  17. No doubt mate. In many objective measures scientific progress and the tech it provides have improved human society. It's the subjective and not so easily quantifiable that has really made me question my long held belief that 'progress has made the world a better place'. I'm just not so sure anymore. The unnatural form of modern society has undoubtedly decreased an individuals chances of dying prematurely, from the likes of malnutrition, murder, predation, accident, disease etc, but at what cost? Are our lives more fulfilling? Has our well being improved or deteriorated with all the techno
  18. Continuation; This is what I mean when I speculate about social factors, rather than tech. http://johnhawks.net/weblog/reviews/life_history/aging_evolution/hill_2007_hiwi_mortality.html I think established Western social beliefs like, human rights, justice, law, equality etc have played a significant role in improving life expectancy by reducing violence. In the same way that medical technology has in preventing and mitigating disease and like agricultural tech has in prevented famine.
  19. Definitely a dog for lamping............ you might have to actually look at it if you took it out in daylight!
  20. I'd challenge that mate. At birth yes, but there's more to it than that. Adult Humans in their pre-tech state, ie as hunter gatherers could expect to live well past 30. In fact it's believed not uncommon to make 70. Your point is still valid of course, as would be an associated one about infant mortality. I just want to point out that 'progress' actually resulted in little or no improvement of our health and life expectancy at first and even now I'm not sure tech alone is responsible for the improved adult life expectancy. Social attitudes probably have as much to do with it. http
  21. Some tyrant will be hankering after a ban, hence the wording. It'll be an high velocity assault catapult next.
