  1. we got invited to fish the kinchurdy (spelling?!) beat in the spey for a weekend a few years back and my mates dad came down with the shites.. well he was dropping his dirty water in the river as and when he needed to as we had banned him from the bothy toilet in case he shown us up! so one day we down were all up stream of him just incase and he unclips his chest waders and goes to the shallows to let one rip...cue the piss-takeing and dry heaving then he stands up and put his wader straps back over his shoulerds and theirs some thing running thru his fingers.....he shouts wheres all th
  2. 14000 on 300 acre???? Seriously??? yup give or take a few thou depending on the days then 3 thou in the forestry and 3 thou down the road That's some birds on that area mate. Are/were you surrounded by large shooting estates also? edited after i looked at the old maps out ..we had a big place on one side of us then we had a small bird robbing syndicate on one side and a big lump of bird sucking ground on the bottom (netrigger you know the place!)

  4. theirs no rules to it....theirs a generally excepted rule that its all released before its respective season starts. how ever i always had a few pens of partriges out all season as call birds. and a shoot i know that shoots BIG days restocks at the start or december with brailed birds. HAVEING to let birds go on the day of the shoot is something that is simply not on yanks and spannish may do it but we dont, any keeper who makes up excuses for it needs gone. keeping birds put is easy if you know how. we used to put 2,000 reds 2000 ducks and 14,000 pheasants down on just over 300acre and ge
  5. I am hopeing to get some permanent tunnels made this Christmas for stoats and weasels. I might use a mk6 in the permanent tunnels 6s are ok but hard to make a nice perminant tunnel for and i dont think they catch stoats and weasles as well as 4s, but were you are you will pick up a few rabbits (from memory ) get some old clay drainage pipes they make nice invisble tunnels dug in right, you will have a lot of eyes on your ground

  7. ive done 2 bullocks for farmers in the last week and been given a galloway cow for my (dogs) that the prime cuts are in the freezer and the rest is minced and in the pet food freezer,, but ive got a lamb to do tomorrow and done 2 ducks for a old lassey down the road on wednsday
  8. my old black dog had a bad skin trouble fr a while and her coat went manky..i stirpped her out and its come back short and lovely,its "wireing up" a treat, i dont do mine in a one-er i spread it out all day as my thumb hurts from a old injury

  11. not any more... i dont bother with it, just a few bits for the wee man, money was and is tight as a kid so i always felt guilty getting loads of stuff i didnt need or realy want.....its always been about the food for me!

  14. Are mullet still around to catch in winter mate ?..........always assumed them and bass would clear off to deeper water ?? no we always get mullet all year round, and bass their the two things we get all year...........and sea weed

  17. to me their THE terrier..... and ive got one hear from a very very good line, even thou she aint the dog she was she is getting on a lot in years but she has put stuff away and show up other dogs. she is retired due to haveing fits, but to my mind proper fells are diffrent to "patterdales" or smooth black dogs call them what you will
