Ferret/ Dogs Stolen? Read This
perthshire keeper replied to Williampalmer's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Firstly, we can't ban anyone with a criminal record. This is an internet forum, not a playgroup! If we banned everyone with a criminal record there would be quite a few members gone... Secondly, as much as the evidence seems damning, he hasn't actually been convicted yet. We have a justice system in this country; it may not be perfect, but we should let it take it's course. Personally, I'd rather leave him here to answer his critics. What's the old saying? "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." Crimes involving the theft of peoples animals are about as low as it gets i -

I haven't got a 'Credit Score', what ever that is. I have absolutely nothing on credit. I owe no one anything. I ask nothing of anyone. What ever this 'credit score' thing is, it just smacks of one more way of them controlling you. What is it; You have to take their loans / pay their interest, just to show you're a good little soldier. Then they'll feed you more loans / interest payments? FFS ..... That's terrible Then again? I haven't seen a human being or heard ones voice in a week. Not so much as a shadow in a passing motor. This doesn't bother me in the least. Even my medical reco

Mole Trapping For A Living

ya know I'm not sure but Bill T was a local legend around here, and I THINK he made the pipe traps before Bob. I'm not sure and I've never asked but it would be interesting to know. All the farmers I catch for still talk about Bill like he was fecking superman! Ahhh now one to ask bob too as he will know! Bob never showed me how to make them traps though he has given me a couple and lent me a few when I was a nipper, but my next door neighbour who is 70 odd tells me about when he used to make gas pipe traps FOR Bill Trouton and he gave me 20 odd pipes all ready made just less the springs t -

no worries. ile drop you a pm in the very near future -
agreed! if its to be a stop net ie like a minnie long net for ferreting then its too short, but if its what i would (and i think tomo ) call a gate net then it will have a ring or slider on each end and it will be like a massive purse net, set up on two poles if so then the lenght and width are 100% spot on for how i make them..only i use "5 and a bit inch mesh for hares

never seen a square mesh longnet and i cant see how it would remain square mesh after a load of bag has been added? stick to the tryed and tested

Mole Trapping For A Living

yeh i know all that but its a long job i once had a 20achr field that was black and i mean black with hills it was stubble and their wasnt 3ft between hills. i only had 40 traps at the time and was trying to do it systematically...and it didnt work i was getting 10-15 moles a day right enugh but god it seemed to take ages to get out of that field! -
depending on what its made from. if its pipes then their shouldent be too much to do we used to just rake the crap out of them with draining rods and the flappy paddle type thingy on the end, but if its a real stone one made from natural stone then it may have buckled and caved in a wee bit or been dug by rabbits, what i would do is take the top off and all the foofing tops and try and put it right with out going ott on it so its as "aged " as possible that way it wont take as long to settel down
