  2. hi gents i need to find the words to the ullswater pack song, its one ive asked to sing this weekend and need to touch up on it so if some one has them or can get a copy of it sent to me asap that would be great!   5. intresting stuff lads the only digs ove seen in ash and tips is in johny blucks books...but lets not go their! we have had a couple slip down running sand while not ment to and its real bad stuff! we trenched them to make it a bit better, you know that dune sand with that grassy stuff in it! running peat holes and drains are very bad, i was always told its ok to put a dog into some where were waters running out of but not where water runs into? what you all recon to that?
  6. i dont much care how i die had some VERY close ones on the fell so will probly end up bleached white bones somewhere other than that just in my sleep will be fine, ime a whimp and dont like pain!

  8. i agree sand is very bad.. all we have realy is sand, peat and rock lots and lots of rock!
  9. its a bit quiet in hear at the min so question for you all. what do you find the worst and even most dangerous to dig and work our wee dogs in? i find sand is very bad for all the reasons! cave ins and even running sand! deadly, that and rock pure rock i have a few spots thats real bad bad but ive a few places thats, pure rock but their all handy sizes and can be faster to dig than soil soo whats yours?
  10. i always use maggots, ive used worms too while good for grayling..you get pesterd by seatrout and big browns
  11. all my nets are pokes now even if their only short, like purse nest, i just like a bigger net with 2 pegs, same with fox nets all have 2 pegs,,mostly hemp or spun polly to i work a lot of whin bush and brier and bracken so 4z purse nets aint good lol

  13. looking very good! i wish i had the "umph" to knit a long net only ever made one! i just make poke nets and fox nets now.......you know ive got a lovely home for a couple of nets tc ive got a load of old nets i was given too ile pop a post up later and see if you can pin down what their made from its LOVELY stuff
  14. very good tc just about the same as i do i DO like the idear of tucking the wire under one row and useing it as a fixed gauge very clever. i wrap the last 2 full mesh round my little finger then use that as a gauge, for the rest of the new webs..
  15. Apart from the fact it does not have lines or pins yet. Prey do tell. TC noo the main problem with them is......their not hanging in my shed good stuff their allan, you do it the same way as me cut it all back to the knots on each size, do you use a gauge to re-knit it or just by eye? i do it by eye and get it mostly right

  17. Agreed ,I don't see the point but isn't,t just the same as any other pest we've imported from America she would need a special licence to keep it ? My fear would be after a while fed up of getting bitten etc it gets dumped maybe in a town or city see the problems that would cause once let a rat go in the thistles center in sterling feck me that was funny! and won a £50 bet for takeing one out a cage trap alive with my barehands as for tameing one....feck that. thou i did have a pet otter for 3 years
