    I think it was on QI I heard that people have used penicillin for thousands of years, apparently it would grow on the saddles of horses and people noticed that cuts that rubbed against it healed better (or something like that) and cottoned on to it.

    I have battled with my 'higher authority' to get on board with getting a bike and I think I have just about convinced her. Here's my dream bike, might have to get the watered down version though and need to make more money to have the van/bike dream combo instead of a car. Yours is very nice too

    I liked reading the lurcher and terrier forums and take a quick gander at falconry, ferreting, etc. But I can't be assed posting much in other forums because I don't have much to add, everything has been covered at some point it seems and a lot of the threads are just cock-measuring about who's dog is best. Most of the funniest threads are in the general section, so might as well have a laugh and then learn whilst actually hunting.

    I handed my notice in today, felt great. Cheeky bonus is I had to give 8 weeks notice but only have to work 4 and 2 of those are already booked as holiday. I would usually vote for the 5 mins from home job because my commute has driven me mad and costs a fortune, so bad that I would be better off on minimum wage if I worked local! But if you hate your job, why even think about and do it, playing it safe is for boring people.

    It is interesting and very believable. There is a great book I read (that I can't remember the bloody name of) that is more like a scientific journal of canine behaviour and biology, which goes in to a lot of detail about how dogs and humans worked together and how both adapted as a consequence. It is odd to think how stunted human society would have been without the help of dogs, even today a lot of farming wouldn't be viable without collies in very hilly areas.

    I for one think he has lost some of his enthusiasm at the times he wanted to 'take things offline'. He said I look too old now, everyday he finds me less attractive so I vote to replace him with a pedophile with a higher prey drive.     Isn't there a way to block the posts of people you don't like? I am sure there was an option for 'don't fecking read it' in the profile settings, it's a special filter that most people learn in childhood but some are late bloomers. There is no shame in developing a bit late, I can't grow a proper beard and although it does make me feel like I am not a real man, I find a way to get through the day.     I suppose it's dodgy if they are asking for some of your old pants, but if it sounds genuine (like new pants) then I wouldn't be so paranoid. Some people wouldn't want to post on here and I don't care much why.

    Well cheetah's were able to evolve over millions of years to do it, I am just wondering if with the aid of human selection a greyhound could theorectically be changed in a shorter period of time. It doesn't seem that daft to me considering dogs are already the most diverse mammal due to human selection. I understand internal massive biological changes would take a very long time, so I suppose my question was is there anything about a greyhound that is so different, it would need to change so much it wouldn't be considered a greyhound anymore?

    Greyhounds were initially bred to hunt, now are mostly used for racing and therefore to be faster and faster. But what is the theoretical limit do you think they could reach in MPH? I ask after reading this article comparing them to cheetah's http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162-57457846/secret-to-cheetahs-speedy-stride-found/ with the only difference apparently being the stride speed at maximum pace. So could a greyhound be bred to show this characteristic over time? Will we be watching greyhound races in half the time?

    I knew a guy who swore he was the son of Elvis and would constantly sing Elvis songs to try and get people to ask him. He couldn't have looked or sounded any less like Elvis but that's what his mum told him and he believed it...poor bugger. But back to the random topics, Born Hunter I think I am lacking in empathy and compassion but I think what I said is logical. No-one wants to be deprived their right to have children but in the long run some sacrifices will need to be made, better to start on the prevention now before the cure really is a bumming.
