  1. Really easy to call in barn owls with your hand , done it many a time. One evening I was watching a pair hunt , called both of them in. I was lying in the grass and one of them landed about 6ft from me , we continued eye balling each other for about 20 seconds before he decided I wasnt a meal and flew off.
  2. Wow , never seen a black fox , would love to have bagged that. Saw a pure white fox once , a lad from Hartlepool had it stuffed , shot in Northumberland.
  3. It's a bun up North ....bigger ones are stotties.
  4. PR is paramount when dealing with the public now ...not worth losing your ticket.
  5. Last night saw me venturing out again under the full moon , not ideal but just needed to be out. I dropped on a bit of ground I haven't shot this year expecting a few but there was very few and what there was were the most lamp shy rabbits in the country . Other people hunt the ground so no surprise and I worked very hard for the 4 rabbits I shot here. I then moved to another small piece of ground , again extremely shy but manged a few more here. This ground will now be rested til the Summer when I will see how they've bred and shoot it earlier next season. I've still got a
  6. Nothing funny about that , absolute disgrace with no self control ?
  7. BASC rolled over so we are all fecked.
  8. It's got nothing to do with the safety of lead and eating game like they are trying to push. It's purely another effort to ban shooting by the back door by those that are against it. And BASC support it ....a$$holes
  9. I popped out on New Years Day night as needed some fresh air as been at work all week and never been out. The moon was bright so I knew I would struggle with the rabbits but just had to be out. Pulled up in the farmyard and had a bit craic with the farmer and wished him all the best then off I went. The moon came out and the clouds parted and it was very bright. Couldn't get near the bunnies so had to take shots at around 70 yds and managed these OK then started missing every rabbit between 30 and 50 yds , started blaming the Winny Subs , then me then I realised rifle was shooting high. A
  10. I always wish that I had become a keeper when I left school. A way of life that I would have thoroughly enjoyed , maybe in my next life .
  11. Bolted them with ferrets.
  12. What was your highlight of 2022? Mine was in October when I travelled to the Scottish Borders to try and call a sika stag in the rut. I have shot Sika before but never called one. Imagine how chuffed I was when I called not 1 but 2 spikers in and grassed both all within 5 minutes ?
  13. Cant beat a mixed bag. I havent been out on the rabbits for a few months as never had any decent weather but need to get out on them in January.
  14. No mate , they get shot and dumped in a hedge .
