  1. Wish we had munties you lucky chap. You're certainly knocking some over at the minute ?
  2. Well I've just got back from the gun shop. Told the owner about the split cases and he has removed all the Winchester ammo from the shelves. I asked to exchange my split ones Nd had to open another box and check them all , out of 50 , 7 were split. He said it doesnt matter which brand you buy all the cases are made in the same factory. He only has Remington at £29 per box ? Winchester were £15
  3. After reading about the above split cases I thought I would check the 100 I've just bought , guess what 24 were split. What possible implications may this have ? Anyone experienced this? Would a round possibly get stuck in the barrel ?
  4. Not like all this plastic fakery these days with pumped up lips and covered in tats ?
  5. Just been researching and apparently a 42 yard zero has the HMR bang on at 100 yards.
  6. Yep strange things happen. I have shot roe before on 3 occasions with a perfect shot where the animal just stood there as if to say " is that your best shot "
  7. As I've already said I am just experimenting with it at the moment , but it is suiting my needs at present.
  8. Yep spot on ? Early season I use the .22 as the rabbits are not as jumpy and closer but this time of year they are very skittish hence shooting them at eighty to hundred yards. I havent used it much but loving it at the minute so just getting used to it. Wasnt really a fan of it when I bought it but am starting to love it now.
  9. I was amazed too expecting it to be poleaxed. Couldn't believe it ran so far , maybe 20 or 30 yds but not 150. It's not like it was liver shot or far back but perfect. I actually spotted it lying on the edge of some rushes as the dog was working through them.
  10. Zeroed at 50 yards as all shots are sub 100 yds.
  11. Popped out yesterday afternoon for a recce to see what bucks were about in preparation for April. I bumped a doe which was laid up at the back of a hedge and continued to see nothing else except pheasants and hares. On my return route I spotted another doe couched and decided to get closer, as I approached I spotted a 6 point buck in velvet with a couple of does. Another young doe appeared and the eldest doe proceeded to chase this one off head butting it a few times. Consequently they ended up in the next field and the stalk was on. I had to crawl around the buck to get t
  12. I've got my confidence back in it now ? I was taking bunnies comfortably at 70 - 90 yds. The one I missed was the longest shot trying to stretch it but I never gave any holdover. Looking forward to another session with it.
  13. Had another look out yesterday night with the HMR , really loving shooting it at present. Not the best night , weather was very still , no wind at all and temperature dropped to -1 making the ground frosty , hence not many rabbits out. Shooting really well now Stav , shot 21 rabbits for 22 shots.
  14. Thanks Jimmy Hope to get them put out soon ?
  15. Very romantic but truth be known ,the general public couldn't care less. Lurcher owners are such a tiny minority nobody cares.
  16. Good, throw the book at them.
  17. Would be nice to get some cash for foxes and crows though but just more political bullshit
  18. Looks like you've been mauled by a big cat ??
  19. Was on national news mate. Feckin morons ....we were only trail hunting your honour ?? Another nail in their coffin.
