some scenarios for you ....... 1. your ferret goes to ground muzzled and meets a rat, weasel, stoat, wild ploecat how is it going to defend itself ? its brain will engage into fight mode but it will get killed as it cant actually bite due to the muzzle ..... 2. your muzzled ferret bottles up a rabbit how can it kill it quickly and move on / it cant it will spend hours scratching at its arse trying to kill it resulting in you spending MORE time digging for it ......... 3. you loose your muzzled ferret how is it going to feed itself .... it aint its going to starve to death .......

lol that statement reminded me of some trips we had up to pensycynor wildlife park to relieve them of some large trout that looked better on the tables of hungry miners kids.

i have a bitch here now that fills my freezer the game dealers fridge and any orders i get down the pub. she is no world beater by far but can hunt catch and retrieve fur and feather on land or retrieve from water if i use the gun. going back many years during the miners strike myself and my 2 brothers had to muck in whilst my father was on the picket line, my 2 younger brothers job was to sift coal from the slag heap accross the river wash it and keep the bunker full. my job was to keep the family in meat using rod gun ferrets and dogs. we all survived and none of us got malnourished LOL

the lurcher is the athlete of the canine world and is expected to produce the goods over and over again in a single night so to think yhey wont need replenishing is ludicrouse. the amount of energy used through the muscle tissue and the amount of lactic acid build up is tremendouse and will need balancing out. fresh water can achieve this but a rehydration drink such as recharge is far far better. every hour or so give the dogs a few laps, that wont be enoughe to bloat the dog out but will be enough to replace the missing salts the dog is burning up when running hard all night. the result is a

Had a few hours rabbiting Sunday. Me and Phil on the Long nets, with frozen Furdy on camera. We started on some large warrens and , as usual, let the two dogs lay back on the rabbits, and hopefully spook them into the nets. It was a bit of a brisk morning, with a temperature of - 4 showing on the truck dashboard plus an icy cold North East wind, that cut right through our clothing taking it down to what must have been -10. The rabbits had been out all night, and were most reluctant to bolt. They knew that to do so would be risky, and no matter how many ferrets we put into the buries, they st

Sunday morning seen me jump out of bed at 06.15 into my hunting kit, and into the garage to get the kettle on and the sausages in the grill, ready for Phil and the Chicky( the Bosnian refugee ) who are always starving when they turn up. As the food was cooking, I loaded up all the nets, long nets, ferrets, the dog sorted the ferrets collars, made my grub for the day, and looked at my watch expecting them at any minuet ... I then get a text off Phil, saying he was running late, apparently he got lost going from his bedroom to his bathroom, and it took him ages to get his bearings ... Great, I

Myself, and CHALKWARREN had a few hours ferreting, yesterday morning. Just a quick run out to try some of this years young ferrets. Although it was a beautiful Wiltshire morning,.it was also a bit blowy out on the open Plains, so we tried for a few rabbits in a nice sheltered belt of woodland. The holes, and most of the warrens, were covered and hidden with a thick blanket of fallen leaves, and purse netting them would of been a farce. So we decided on some long nets. The young ferrets started slowly, but all of a sudden, they realised what the craic was, and we were in business. The ra
