Strange contract Sunday.!! Awkward place to ferret,.with deceptively deep warrens. CHALKWARREN lost his young ferret in an underground pit, she had fallen into a deep hole, and was never going to escape from it,..so he spent most of the morning trying to get her back out It was difficult digging, and after four feet, the steel T Bar suddenly gave way, and dropped down a further two feet. Luckily,..with a bit of assistance,.the wee youngster managed to crawl up and out, back into the daylight,.and hopefully destined for a long and profitable, working life. The cameraman for the d

i should imagine there are plenty of dogs out there that could give her a run for her money or better her ... i was more impressed that the bitch came home without one single injury after running over fresh cut hawthorn all afternoon .......

when you have 10 ferrets working a 100+ hole warren and the rabbits are hitting the long net and more are rumbling ready to bolt you havnt got time to mince around ... unless your dogs are trained to untangle rabbits from purse and long nets before retrieving back to you LOL .......

the mesh on a tennis net is far to big and heavy for a longnet mate ......

there is next to no meat on a day old chick and a ferret has a short gut which means it needs to take in a lot of protein to keep its metabilism working correctly ... you would be ok feeding the chicks as an extra to their normal diet but not as their only meal ......

innoculations have to stay at a certain temperature so why take the risk with your new pup by jabbing him with stuff that may be dead ... get to the vet and pay the price and know your pup will definately be safe ............

i was just jet washing out the ferrets and was watching the old jill mess around with the youngsters in the spare hutch and i had forgotten she is 9 this year ... she will be working alongside her daughters grandaughters and great grandaughters this year(although i will take it easy with her) ... and is still by a long way the best worker out of them all ... what is the oldest worker you have had ???

HERNIA.. IN THE PUP.. advice please

there are 3 different types of hernia ... umbilical ... inguinal .... and diaphragmatic ... umbilical are genetic and passed down through pups ... the reason you shouldnt breed from these pups is because unlike the other 2 hernias the umbilical one has to be surgicaly repaired and can cause complications if the pup is a bitch and she is bred later on in life ... she/he will also pass this on to futer pups they sire/birth ........ -

a complete balls up ... using hand grenades in a closed environment for hostage rescue is a NO NO ... flash bangs or stun grenades should have been used ... non lethal but every bit as effective ... gung ho yanks balls up yet another mission .......

you obviously cant stitch so what i would do is smear the wound with manuka honey get a pot with a rating of at least 10 cover and change the dressing and re apply the honey evry 3 days ... the wound will heal very quickly ........

i have always got a much better result from a collie that has been fed a small amount before a hard day on the hill ... a hungrey dog cannot last at a hard days graft FACT ...........

Dan, you know as well as i do that a full dog will not perform as well as a empty one , the reason for that is that the canine feels the world through its stomach an not its brain ,the canine feels its way in life , through its gut,, casso that is a very outdated veiw ... do you think collies work the hill better because they are hungry ??? do you think top class greyhounds chase a mechanical hare because they havnt been fed ??? the truth is that wild animals are driven to hunt through hunger and necesity ... eat or die its as simple as that ... however canis familiaris the domestic dog
