    Still very puppyish in her ways but can move when she wants to and has had a fair few bolters in her mouth now ... she has got a good retrieve and a great nose on her ... haven't measured her but she is around 22 to the shoulder and is muscling up nicely ... she is way behind where her mother was at this age but all dogs are different .......

    She is a pup mate so I'm not to bothered with her having a few days rest .....

    Thanks for all the advice lads but I kinda now what I'm doing ;-) it's only a superficial skin tear ... simply keeping it clean with salt water will have it healed in 7 days ... her mother Tilly had a very similar injury at about the same age .......

    After waiting to see if Tilly's injury would get better on its own it became obvious that the Achilles' tendon was stretching further and the injury was getting worse so I decided to go ahead and get it operated on which I had done yesterday .... good and bad news ... the good news was that the tendon had separated from the calf which makes the healing process easier ... the bad news was that because the tear was so sever they could only just attach the fibres together so the knitting process will take longer and the build up to full fitness will have to be slower .... I've given her the best

    I've never slept properly ... even as a kid I was always waking through the night and I am the same now ... I never have a problem going to sleep but I go straight into R.E.M. sleep then wake so my brain is convinced I've slept all night when in reality I've only had an hour or two ... I've seen all the doctors the specialists the hypnotherapists tried all the drugs and nothing makes a blind bit of difference so I just learn to live with it now .......... You will get enough sleep when your dead ..........

    It's what I used to feed mine when I was a young kid because that's what I was taught to feed them .... to this day I can't understand why we used to throw away the rabbits head with the skin and guts instead of feeding it to the ferrets .... thank god times have changed ... I still cringe when I think what my poor ferrets had to live on and were expected to work hard .......

    I've lost over a stone in the last couple of weeks by cutting back on my carbs and eating less shit like pasties etc and not drinking any alcohol through the week .... Yesterday down at the coast ......

    if im honest mate,,and you really think about it,,its a fault,,,she shouldnt really give up her catch,,,she does the same thing with my little brindle bitch bonnie,,,and my terrier,,,we use it to good efect as you can see,,and in some ways im glad she does it ,,as both bonnie and dorris retrive far better with softer mouth,,,but venus is the dominant dog in all respects,,so why she does it im not sure..
