If you can't see what your shooting at then you shouldn't be pulling the trigger ... unlike Hollywood you have a limited amount of ammo and if you waste it before your enemy guess what's going to happen ... as for contact distance in this day and age it's normally dictated by the enemy and how brave or superior their feeling some will take it right up to you whilst others will start trying to engage you from a fukc of a long way and unless your taking "effective enemy fire" you just crack on and don't waste ammo firing back .......

A dog that is not bred for gameness will have it's limits, we both know for a fact they would quit in the right circumstances.Chasing a motorised hare that there never gonna catch time after time after time I'd imagine if one knew he could get some fur in his mouth there wouldn't be much to stop him. I have never bought into the pack hierarchy theory ... in my yard there is one alpha and that's me the rest are all on an equal basis and I stamp out any aggression or bullying immediately ... my dogs can all chew on the same bone together eat from the same bowl and there's never so much as a grumble I start this from when they are pups ... they learn that they can't try and bully the older dogs they have to share they can't steal another dogs food ... it all makes for a nice quiet happy easy going pack ......

I have a different system to the one that trapperman uses .... I can stay out for just one night or up to a week all depends on the job .......

You don't need a fire source if you've got decent clothing and sleeping bag you can sleep out to minus 15 quite comfortably ...... I've got the gear mate It can get just a tad nippier that -15 in the night up there Wear an extra jumper then you big fanny ......

With Tilly laid up my hand has been forced into pushing the pup on faster than I wanted to but in all fairness she has coped well with the extra work and Sunday it all came together ... she has been steadily getting better at marking and calming down around the warren so Sunday morning I started the day with taking her to a spot full of spinnys and low laying bramble where it's impossible to purse net and you have to longnet a large area and rely on the dogs to push the rabbits hard into hitting the net and stopping them from hole hopping ... 10 hours .......Did you need to use anything other than kindlin down the slices mate, im gonna show kids at some pointNot if the log is dry enough mate ... I cheat slightly by cutting the cross with a chainsaw which means you can leave the bottom quarter uncut so it's easily movable ......
