  1. Keep us informed. It would be funny if one of them came home with his face tattooed and was buggered by a queer, just like The Hangover .
  2. Brilliant picture for sure and it's true that most of us will never wear skis while hunting. But at the end of the day it's using a terrier to bolt a fox to a gun. Most of us have done that. As for a beer afterwards, most have done that too. As for bringing a terrier and quarry into the pub too................................................yep guilty too, ?..
  3. Was he a black terrier who was called Kunta Kinta before he was called Toby ????????
  4. Very nice. What does Sgian Dubh mean ? Scian Dubh in Irish means black knife, so is it Scots gaelic for the same ?
  5. For fucks sake Jigsaw, it's bad enough ye shot and killed (not you personally, your fellow county men) the owner of a famous Kerry Blue terrier but you then come on here and burst the bubble of all those who think that the Kerry Blue might have been an other legendary Irish breed of terrier. Shame.
  6. Have you a whipper in or is it a gun pack ? I was talking to a huntsman recently and talking about riot he remarked that the more you see it the easier it is to break them to it. When you think about it he makes sense.
  7. What a find Dido. Nice pics Stonewall, timeless.
  8. Thanks for putting that up Eddie. I wonder was it the do or die spirit they say they used to have that attracted Micheal Collins to them? If that was filmed in 1921 would I be right in saying Danny Boys owner was dead a year later ?
  9. Pure Otterhounds ?? Nice pics. Probably my favourite choice of hunting. Sadly don't get to do enough of it.
  10. Absolutely, would have took balls.
  11. Did he bolt down the hill...............and if he did did the field follow ?
  12. Wheatens shouldn't be sounding, they should be mute !!!!!!!!!!
  13. People can be very quick to call others bullshitters when they mention something they've seen in the hunting field. But those who've done a lot of hunting will have seen things others will say is impossible and will be called bullshitters. As a result it wont get spoken about. But when lads have the balls to mention or write about exceptional hunting feats those who've witnessed similar incidents will know what they mean and such things are possible. BUT, such privileges are usually given to those who spend a hell of a lot of time in the field.
  14. I'm half way through that book and so far it's been excellent. Mr Chapman wrote a series of articles on Banger years back in Earth Dog / Running Dog and although the terrier does sound like a freak you must remember it must have been something else for a devoted Jack Russell man like Eddie Chapman to give praise to another type of terrier. If some of the things Banger done in his work seem far fetched I wouldn't be surprised but I would believe the stories. I've seen terriers do most of the escapades Banger did but I never seen one terrier do them all like Mr Chapman did. JMHO.
  15. Personally I like shaley / stoney ground. I can understand that back in the day of bar only locating it was hated but with locators today I find you can shift a couple of feet quickly with your hands. And in my neck of the woods Foxes love getting into shale. If you dig into it sensibly it shouldn't collapse.
  16. Great minds think alike Eddie,
  17. Here ya go. It was on every Saturday morning at 11. Happier times.
  18. IMO the only two breeds that looked fit for function were the pointer and whippet , so I hoped they wouldn't be picked, But the pointer gets reserve and the whippet wins. That's all those breeds need, another 500 breeders jumping on the band wagon 'till next years Crufts.
  19. Are you saying it was faster for the whippet to be carried by her than if it tried to run itself .
  20. I've said this before. One of the most useful terriers I ever seen was a 1/4 staff ,3/4 jack russell bred in Dublin about 27 or 28 years ago. Called Tiny and he was around 14 lbs I'd say. His owner didn't keep a season and everything dug was killed so Tiny never met the same animal twice. He was used 3 or 4 times a week and dug to maybe 2,3 or 4 times a day. What was he like in a big deep place ? I don't know because he was never put in such places. But do the math on 3 days a week, twice a day maybe accounting for 3 or 4 head per day, 12 months of the year. How useful can a t
  21. Foxdropper, If you need to dig then you put that one back and take out the worker. Horses for courses. It's hard to give kennel space to some types and look at them every day, but some people can and it makes for a team that can cover every angle.
  22. Local Chinese's freezer is on the blink ?
