I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure it was transformed to DVD last year and was for sale. It was probably in HOUNDS that I seen it, if not then the CMW. Well worth it, have it here on the old video tape cassette.

LOL, nothing.

First photo in that trio is a classic IMO.

When it's a job of work sentiment doesn't come into it but digging cubs IMO isn't even good for terriers and also IMO it takes a certain type of terrier to use on cubs successfully so it's something I could never understand why someone would do it for the craic. Must be because the weather's getting warmer. But call outs are real and must be done, simple as that. Had 2 handy digs this morning wanting to get one more into a young dog entered this year. First one was a heavily pregnant female who'll hopefully be left in peace now to have her litter and although hunting goes on for anot

Well done to men and terrier.

So you're saying one b*****d with a black and tan.

My only experience of a Doberman is when crossing a field at the back of a house who's guard dog (the Dobbie) saw me and came at me to attack me. Luckily the terrier I had was running loose, seen the Doberman and met him head on, tripped him and the Doberman somersaulted and landed facing home. He ran straight home with my terrier chasing him. I was talking to the owner later and told him what happened. He said they're the most scatter brained breed he knows but at least they look the part. Weren't they developed by a German postman to guard him on his rounds ?

All that ratting would make a man thirsty and what better to quench that thirst..............................

I've never heard a chocolate terrier called a ginger, LOL, I can see it catching on, especially as GINGER is an anagram for what a lot of lads call their BLACK terriers, LOL.

I should have been a bit clearer. What I meant was to take out the vixen while the cubs are dependent on her is not fair on the cubs. When I said the cubs have their eyes open and mobile I meant they're still in the earth and as you say cubs up tight tubes are a pain in the arse. That's what I meant. Personally I think if someone does shoot a milky vixen I think they are morally obliged to locate and dispatch the litter. It's the same with fox drives where no terriers are present. IMO it should be a rule that a terrierman should be present on all fox drives to locate wounded foxes that ha

As Glyn said, if you don't do it they'll get someone else who will, usually with a rifle, and a rifle IMO is not the best tool to use in a foxes breeding season.
-
It is a sad fact that for some their season is only starting. But for a sportsman the season is near over and I know of some who've already stopped but after the season there are call outs which have to be done. Personally I could never understand why anyone would dig cubs for sport ? Especially when their eyes are open and they're mobile it has to be one of the most frustrating jobs to make sure you accounted for them all. A pain in the ass IMO.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, Eddie, the fact it was shot in Westmeath might explain the exaggeration. So we can presume it was a 15 lb vixen, LOL. Just as well it wasn't shot in Dublin. It would be a 60 pounder that had a child in it's mouth at the time, LOL.

The first one there Bryan can't be claimed as Britains biggest fox. I have a copy here of the 1971 Guinness Book of Records (I know, I'm a nerd.) and the biggest fox ever killed by a pack of foxhounds was a 23 3/4 lbs dog killed by the Ullswater Foxhounds on Cross Fell in 1936. A fox weighing 28 lbs 2 oz, measuring 54 inches was shot on the Staffordshire / Worcestershire border on 11 March 1956. The one in your picture weighs 26 and a half pounds. And if that second fox in your link is 38 lbs then I'm a millionaire porn star.

Someone got a nice mask so. I have a mask on my wall of a 21 lb dog fox that a terrier I had called Duke killed. He killed a good sized vixen in the same earth but she was too damaged. Would have been a nice story if I had the 2 masks on the same plaque. There was a hunting man in my house one day and he looked at the mask of the 21 pounder and asked was it vixen ? Maybe he only hunts 40 pounders, LOL.

Stick him in a sack, weigh him and release him.

Terriermen and hunting men have always weighed their kills, particularly Otter hunters because hounds don't break them up like they do a fox. Manys a classic Otter hunt report ended with the weight of the Otter being mentioned. A small spring balance takes up no room in your pocket. Guessing can make a liar of you. I snared a very large Fox a few years ago and took it home for a photo and to weigh it. It was 18 1/2 pounds. So with lads on here saying they've weighed foxes in the upper 20 lbs range you'd have to add another 1/3 of their size to even come close to 40 lbs. A 20 pounder is a

Can our Red Fox reach 40 lbs ? According to this weeks Fieldsports Channel a 40 pounder was shot in our own County Galway. The fox in the photo is without a doubt a big fox but it looks like a juvenile is holding it up. Last year I weighed one very large fox at 19 lbs or so and the following week I dug one but didn't weigh it but reckon it was 23 or 24 lbs. Maybe the biggest I've ever dug. I once dug two 21 lb dogs and a monster 19 lb vixen in the same earth. Back when the Guinness book of records had records for fieldsports (nowadays it has records for eating the most cream crackers

Make you wonder for sure. They tell you that the Red Squirrel goes out onto branches too thin for the Pine Marten to follow but can catch the bigger Grey Squirrel's. The poor Red Squirrel's that I seen Martens taking in documentaries must have been suffering from obesity or something ,LOL. The next time you see a Pine Marten road kill (a common sight on roads) pick it up and get it mounted with that red Squirrel in it's mouth just to annoy the wildlife "experts" who tell us Pine Martens are a useful addition to our countryside
-
Well I couldn't think of a better man Eddie than yourself to go in there and give those Red Squirrels a hand by getting rid of the Greys. After all you must be getting bored of trapping mink, I seen your results elsewhere recently. That's impressive .

OR a vegetarian to start eating meat !!!!!!!!!!!

Not a year goes by Fireman I don't find new places by accident (most lads would but most lads exercise on a lead and are afraid to let them off) and when things work out it's a nice dig and a new earth found, when it goes wrong it can be several sleepless nights. There's nothing worse .
-
And if she works she'd do most lads too, good luck with her.
-
Maybe Rob , but heavy vixens means a February litter but nature does tend to have it's own way of fluctuating populations at times.

I don't know who should be more ashamed, you for taking pictures of fox porn OR the dog fox for carrying on when he knew he was being watched ,
