If it was an apple tree would you eat the apples, LOL.

I actually know of a woods that has many graves in it and after a storm the skeletons do be entwined in the roots of the tree. The farmer who owns the woods sends for the local Priest and he comes and blesses the deceased. I'm not sure if they get interned again.

Terriers Will Be The Death Of Me.
neil cooney replied to neil cooney's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Which reminds me ,LOL, I was lucky to survive a good weekend over your neck of the woods a few weeks back. But where were you Bosun ? Or did you not want to be seen in our company, LOL. I couldn't blame ye. -
Would the trees not sink just like a grave sinks as the body decomposes ? In a trees case it would topple over ? It's a nice idea though. Going for the taxidermy option myself, just to annoy the family as much in death as I did in life, LOL.

Why do we put ourselves through hell by keeping the little b*****ds ? My daughters away working with horses and has left me minding her bitch , Tanner, with instructions not to dig to her. Tanner needs work so I had a couple of handy ones to her the weekend just to take the edge of her. This morning as I was feeding the fowl she caught a rat and ran around every pen frightening the shit out of every bird with the rat in her mouth. Then I drove to a farm to check a larsen trap with Tanner sitting in the back on top of the terrier box looking out the front window. 2 in the trap and I threw

Absolutely, if he can do the job and is tried and tested, use him.I wouldn't breed of an old bitch though unless she was in great nick for her age. Like this one at 12 years old, she'll be 13 in November 20170523_161733-1.jpg That's it, worked hard but treated like Royalty, the way it should be and they should live well into retirement. Some families of terriers seem to have reputation for longevity. I don't know about nowadays but the Park dogs a few years ago had a rep for working and breeding late in life. It's a good thing. If you're lucky enough to have a great terrier who's bred

All my tattoos are a result of a wild life, LOL. -
Just to add, old time cockers used to say, and maybe they're right, was age on one side, youth on the other. It worked for them.

I like all your pictures and posts Blaise but what I like the most about them is to see so many young people involved. Keep up the good work, .

If a horse is running straight at you and you stand perfectly still there's a good chance you're going to die. Horses can't see directly in front of them ,hence the reason you stand your ground, put your hands out to widen yourself and make some noise so it knows you're there. Then it will stop or go around you. This thread shows that a lot of lads think the countryside is only about the quarry you're after. It's a working environment just like a building site and has it's dangers and a herd of cattle or horses milling around in the dark could easily break a leg or a neck and that's a bi

Was just thinking the same myself.

Don't know of any good Borders that would go back to his terriers but his Border blood is running in the veins of plenty of good black terriers.

Always a privilege to see them IMO. Saw two today about five miles apart, one male, one female and both carrying Thrushes.

I started serving my time as a butcher in Dublin nearly 30 years ago and a coddle traditionally was made on a Monday to use up all the left overs from the weekend. So everything went in. But the thoughts of putting what's essentially a stew on a sandwich ????????? Does the bread not need to be rock hard to stop the coddle breaking it up, lol.

About ten years ago I had a lovely promising young bitch die from Lungworm and at the time it was nearly unheard of. Ever since then you hear of scares regarding it but never hear of the epidemic that's threatened. A couple of lads on here reckoned a lot of the whole lungworm thing was a lot of scaremongering by vets, and you know something, I'm beginning to agree with them. It seems to just be something that if it get's your dog so be it. Just use a wormer that does "slugworm" and don't leave food bowls and bones out at night where a slug or snail might crawl across them at night and hope
