    Not a very popular colour here in Ireland, the Black N Tans that the British sent over here in the 20s were good for nothing and sent back fairly quickly.plenty of thrm black n tanz were irish as well (fellows whod joined the british afmy a few years earlier in ww1) Now, now TT, I was talking about Lakelands and not trying to have a bit of fun with the English lads, I'd never do that. .

I think 1 of these pure patterdales from NI was used as the stud dog to the white pups. You'll deny it, but I'll presume you mean I'm one of the lads who says he has "pure" Patterdales. But that's putting words in my mouth. But then again, I'm probably being silly here by discussing terriers with you because at the end of the day you haven't one clue on the subject, let's face it.     Bosun, at your clubs show this year a lad entered a white pied terrier in the Patterdale class. I think he was expecting me to ask him was he colour blind but I just presumed it was a white Patterdale and he confirmed this.

    I wouldn't let them mate 5 times in a couple day's. Your supposed to do every other day and get 3 good ties. Says who ??????There's an awful lot of bullshit talked regarding breeding when most of it comes down to common sense. If both dog and bitch are on the same yard let him serve her 'till she refuses. If I was travelling a distance to a stud dog with a bitch then every second day is for my convenience not the bitches. Nor is it anything to do with the semen quality because good healthy stud dogs and stallions regularly cover more than one a day succesfully. and yes it does tire the m

    Good advice, hold her with one hand and run your other hand down her back and if her tail goes to one side it's a good sign, but, some bitches will do it that even when not ready.Usually when a bitch stops bleeding she's most fertile two days later but in an ideal world the more times the dog serves her the better. If she comes out quickly then that's usually a good sign she's in pup. Yes tail going to side but she's still not letting him nowhere near her Some are like that and you might just have to be firm and hold her.

    A ladder trap will trap plenty of pigeons but you have to make the other food sources hard to get and put grain in the trap. Folding a birds head under it's wing is done by some pointer men over this side of the world but the bird isn't shot. It's not really a sporting thing to do IMO.
