  1. I'll tell ya one thing Jok, if you turned your back for a second I'd have those raspberries gone, LOL. Seems to be a great year for fruit. The branches on my fathers plum trees have snapped with the weight of the fruit.
  2. Nice one Daniel, Badger and Butcher, a true story.
  3. Id say it more sums up that the Irish are definetly backwards Nope, we Irish terriermen only go forward, just like our terriers.
  4. Id say it more sums up that the Irish are definetly backwards Do you reckon a method of transport makes a terrierman better ?
  5. Some generalization there Neil unless your winding us up . Me, wind up you Brits after the great hospitality some of you's showed us last week, come on ? But we are fitter, .
  6. The best man I've ever seen to dig is a Yorkshire man living over here. He'd carry a mattock and shovel in one hand and the terrier on it's chain was in his other hand. On his shoulder he'd have a small bag with a torch, nets, a bottle of water for the terrier and his locator. Most digs I had with this man were 7 and 8 footers but believe me if this man was on his own he'd still have gone to the same holes and on several 10 footers we had he'd do most of the digging. And remember, with a mattock they're not much use after 4 or 5 feet so it was the shovel after that. Sometimes I think t
  7. My post was only aimed at Stop End. I have a funny feeling he wouldn't know a Wheaten (or as he says ,Wheaton) terrier from a Wheaten loaf of .bread. He's telling lads on here what they have in their yards and he's over on the terrier board telling lads what's the best quad. He doesn't even mention a quad but an ATV and can't even drive a van down a lane so would have no hope cross country on a quad. I hate bullshitters.
  8. What line of wheatens do you keep or have kept? Who knows Stop End when he answers your question his Wheatens might be related to yours ?Do you have Wheatens ? Also there seems to be a few lads on here who seem very enthusiastic to learn about the true Wheaten terriers, so Stop End why don't you educate us all about the true Wheaten terrier and all you know about it ? Also, IF a wheaten has a touch of other strong dog in it's ancestory could you inform us as to what you think would be the purest lines of Wheaten around today and should we rubbish those Wheatens who might or do have bull bl

  10. Just to bring you back down to earth, Socks Wordsworth doesn't have a good ring to it, LOL.
  11. I seen it somewhere 9 or 10 years ago and stuck it in my diary and when I seen this topic I dug it up. Time flies by I didn't think it was that long ago I wrote that ....... Fair play Socks, I wrote it down because I liked it and according to my diary it was in June 2008.
  12. Most registered packs in Ireland use a quad but it's used as much for stopping and fencing as it is for getting to a mark. The fact is that a quad is not practical here because most farms are less than 150 acres in size. Most terriermen here would probably have several farms connected together for his mornings sport but he'd still have to get back on his quad to go back to the road and up to the next yard to go into to the earth which might have been only a field or two from where he was before. It's handier to park once and walk for a few hours checking holes. It also solves the questi
  13. Handy ideas there for hiding your still.

  15. A TRIBUTE. Flash of teeth, a white hot pain, Yet on he pushes, time and again, No guiding light, no masters hand, He's on his own in this barren land. His chest is heavy, breath running short, He can't stop now 'til his enemies caught, He hears the digging and the sound of his name, Not long now and he'll be safe again, He holds on tight, he can't let go, For his enemy is strong, of that he knows, He can feel him tire, his pulse runs deep, He feels his enemy slip into eternal sleep. The battle's over, the deed is done, No need for hands or his masters gun, Light floo
  16. And think of the omelets.
  17. That's brilliant. All the Mackerel fishing I've ever done I've never seen a shoal so close to shore. Nice one.
  18. Boy, are you in trouble, that lad thinks it's easy and will always be looking for big bags, LOL. . Hope he's now an angler for life. P.S. with a kid that lucky, I'd have him picking my Lotto numbers, LOL.
  19. Uru, would that top dog be big by American standards ?

With every right, it was a great game and I hope they go all the way.
  21. I know of a similar pond that's been stocked with roach by lads coming back from pike competitions. JMHO but a NO FISHING sign says there's fish in it. The reason it's been left unfished is because folk presume it's empty. I've seen several ponds and quarries over the years and you'd always think they're empty until you see a well worn path being made to the same swim and then the secrets out.
  22. Nice one Treehands, well done those terriers. Sorry I didn't get to see the Tykes in the flesh last week, hadn't enough time, but someday maybe.
