  1. I've never seen one splashed like that cock is, only pure white. They're beauties. We've often released them but I don't like them. Poachers and buzzards can see them a mile off.
  2. And we got a new World Champion boxer and a world record breaking horse trainer over the weekend, so my silly lack of knowledge hasn't let down the Irish, LOL.
  3. Cannot beat a slow cooked hare casserole or a pie, as good or better than roe venison to meI have only eaten Hare once (basically the first one that my whippet retrieved one day). It was possibly the worse tasting meat that Ive ever had. I usually cook it and feed it to my dogs, put some veg with it and it makes 4 very big meals so lasts me 2 days with my 2 dogsTry putting the meat in a bowl of cold water with some salt for a few hours or overnight this takes the strong gamey flavour awayDrifter mate, the strong gamey flavour is surely the best thing about it. That's why you can whack in wine,
  4. I doubt that Hare in the pic was thrown in the ditch or fed to the dogs. R.I.P.
  5. I could live with a scumbag dog thief showing up at my door if I named him, I'd make him regret it. But funny enough, the same scum, although they break the law, also know the law and if someone was to name them you can be sure that a solicitors letter will land in your door soon after. That's how they work and that why over the years I've only ever named those who were CAUGHT with stolen dogs. Stop arguing lads and keep a look out for the OPs terriers. Please God he'll get them back.
  6. I stand corrected so. I knew the Bengalese was 100% domesticated and must have confused the two. It was an article in Cage & Aviary where I read that Gouldians needed to be foster reared, looks like that was wrong too, LOL.
  7. Most "multi catch" rat traps have a hook for bait or a treadle step with only room for one rat behind it so you'll only catch one rat at a time. The ones that have a trap door to let rats in but not out in my experience only catch the first rat but thats all. But if you evenly spread grain across the floor of any of these traps you'll have several rats in them at once and at some stage one will bump against the hook or footplate. I've had 6 in one small trap which had a hook for hanging bait on it.
  8. Right, as far as I know the Gouldian is a completely domestic finch that was never wild and I was always lead to believe you needed foster parents. I also see you have Diamond Doves Lurchers, a lot of lads overlook them but I loved them when I had them. They'd coo and court each other in front of you instead of shutting up as you walked into the bird room. The only thing was stopping them breeding, LOL.
  9. f**k that, if I thought my dogs were in a place and I had to drive my van in their front door then I would. If the c**ts who had them didn't steal them then they bought stolen dogs, simple as that. Lads need to get a few things into their heads regarding stolen dogs. Terriers are usually stolen to sell. They get sold on as 100% workers. So if your terriers are rank curs they're still at risk of being stolen. And because you've bought a cur after being told it was 100% you'll sell it on again to get your money back. So now this stolen terrier is 3 owners away from the piece of shit who st
  10. Yes Neil when Ive had them in the past. just getting back into them. A beautiful bird but I'm lead to believe you need to put the eggs under foster hens, Mannikans are usually used ?
  11. Probably not appropriate for the church but might be appreciated later in the boozer. Listen to the lyrics, quiet poetic.
  12. Maybe Ozzy and Dwezils version would be more appropriate for a funeral ?
  13. I thought he was talking crap. Terriers with fighting styles, has to be a yank. Terrier men talk about work, fools talk about fighting styles. Keep letting people tell you how to talk and you'll keep loosing what few rights you have left. And you being an American should know, you's probably have the strictest hunting laws in the world. Land of the free my ass. So keep digging a hole for the working terrier in the States with your macho bullshit and keep comments like "fighting style" to the American forums. Oh and by the way, working a terrier underground is illegal in some St
  14. I thought he was talking crap. Terriers with fighting styles, has to be a yank. Terrier men talk about work, fools talk about fighting styles. Terriers fight with their quarry do they not? Stop being so romantic. Bollox, terriers work their quarry. There's nothing romantic about wanting to keep stupid illegal remarks off the inter-net about something I wish to see stay legal. Terrierwork is a fieldsport / method of vermin control, NOT, a fighting sport. If you want a fighting dog get a pit bull as the working terrier world needs hunters, not wannabee dog fighters.
  15. A mates brother committed suicide a few years ago and it was a very, very sad funeral. As his brothers lifted the coffin on to their shoulders his favourite song started playing. "He aint heavy, he's my brother," as they carried him out of the Chapel. Back in the pub plenty said they thought it very funny.

  17. I actually told my daughter I want the live 14 minute version played and if that's not possible The Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" but Johnny Cashes version.
  18. Make friends with a tramp, bring him everywhere and everyone will think the smell is off him. I thought you can send Barbour coats back to Barbour themselves and they fix any problems ?
  19. 6 years old this topic and it just shows that Stop End still hasn't a single clue on the hunting game. All types of hound will go to ground if they want to and anyone who hasn't seen it hasn't followed hounds much. It doesn't have to be a big place to begin with if hounds have marked a distance from you. If the soil is soft enough the biggest fox hound could be several feet in by the time you get to them. I've seen it. As for beagles going to ground ? There's been beagles (full beagles) certified in badger trials back in the day and that was in a 20' chute ,11" by 11". Says it all. To put t
  20. Done loads of it and it was never a case of setting your net and reaping the rewards. There's a lot of field craft involved, even if you had an army.
  21. Do I see Gouldians in the first pic ? Have you ever had luck with them ?
